Quite surreal to come across this in the woods to say the least. Me an American and an English friend with two hafu kids. They were actually pretty friendly and me being a history lover I was curious to talk a bit but what a weird moment. Wife says many are uyoko and was a bit worried actually when I told her, we were just glad they weren't poachers we went to investigate because they were offloading a bunch of what looked like rifles in cases.

Lol I finally found me the Japanese version of redneck land. It's a kinda secret spot maybe an old campground, don't know, but the locals go up there and do what ever the hell they want. Camp, burn palettes, dump trash, picnic complete with bbq set up in the river during summer (not making that one up.) Crazy place but it's cool to camp there this time of year cause nobody else is there usually, except apparently the last hold outs from dainiseikaidaisen (or however you say that I always forget.)

I gotta look these guys up, I bet they have a website with pictures and things. I was able to approach them at first because I had my good camera. I pretended like I was just the dumb guy snapping tree pics while the kids and my buddy hid in the trees, funny stuff. The seemed more apprehensive not because I was a gaijin but because most people probably think they have a weird hobby.

Let me know when you find the concerts where J-people openly smoke weed.

I think you've just come up with the best suggestion yet to give their hobby some excitement.

Have the finally started removing those random dumping sites? Between those and seeing that car buried to avoid disposal fees, I'd say we're just a hop, skip, and jump away from pink rivers with radioactive foam.

Oktoberfest at Tokyo Dome. Of course, there has to be a mascot. It probably would have been easier to find a chick with enough boobs to fill a dirndl, but no, they had to go with this horror.

Meet Okto-chan.

I'm kinda sick of the Narcissistic Japanese approach to disaster recovery (mainly because it doesn't cater to my own fucking egotistical recovery from myriad disasters), but I loved this photo (especially because I found it on a Japanese society saying that it read "Play.")

* Why the fuck do they want prayer? Wouldn't money, or aid, or volunteers, or good trade deals, or euthanasia for the elderly, or something useful be better than fucking prayers? FWIW, I prayed a lot for the cuntry...did fuck all to help it.

I still wonder who they are praying to...like so many things here, the people know the SOP to pray but if you ask them who they're praying to or why they they chose to pray instead of take action....
