Is it me? Or is every Starbucks I go to slow on orders? Why do they drag ass all the time over simple orders?

That's not being "slow"---That's theater.

Starbucks Baristas Told to Slow Down
Wall Street Journal
Starbucks Corp. is telling its harried baristas to slow down—which may result in longer lines.
Amid customer complaints that the Seattle-based coffee chain has reduced the fine art of coffee making to a mechanized process with all the romance of an assembly line, Starbucks baristas are being told to stop making multiple drinks at the same time and focus instead on no more than two drinks at a time...
...The new methods have "doubled the amount of time it takes to make drinks in some cases," according to Erik Forman, a Starbucks barista in Bloomington, Minn.

They still got it right where if you get a coffee or ice coffee, the transaction consultant working the register just makes it for you. In the America, they fucking put you in the queue w/ all the douches getting half double decafinated soy chai with extra foam.

Not being snobby or anything (I make my coffee at home from those little pre-packed filter baggies with wings to suspend them inside the cup), but I value Starbucks primarily as a smoke-free place I can rent a nice chair for a small sum of money, and get a free beverage with it.

What's wrong with Cafe Renoir? I think they still check at the door to make sure you have at least two packs of cigs before you are seated.

You have the right idea, and for that, you're getting pretty damn good value. I rarely enjoy my beverage inside the Starbucks, so I get particularly bad value. Grande coffee/ice coffee for 380? Not even all that good to be honest.

And for the record, they are far faster than one of the biggest atrocities in modern times: Japanese bar tenders. Slow, and stingy w/ the fucking booze. I really am getting fucked off with this city.

I must find out where they got the time travel technology which makes the door of each establishment into a time portal which beams you direct to 1985.

I apologize to all non-smokers for three decades-plus of fouling the air...

...recently, the smell of people who've just lit up makes me sick...

....yet, I still crave a smoke every waking moment....

...giving up smoking is the greatest fucking torment in my life since seeing my teacher's bra strap when I was 14 years old and pondering ways to get her to bend over so I could perve at her cleavage...

(Incidentally, solved that earlier torment by wanking....don't really fancy the prospect of shoving a durry up my urethra, so I'm still working on a solution...)

In a recent study that I just made up, non-smokers account for 99.9999% of the flatulence that is eating away at my nostrils and the ozone layer, so think of your 30 years of fouling the air as a spit in the ashtray.

There are probably not many non-smokers who will blame you for your past smoking.

Deep respect for your efforts.

And the fact that you start getting annoyed by smoke is a sign that you are distancing yourself from this addiction.

It does beggar belief that Poms are staggered -- absolutely and utterly shocked -- to learn of the bonkings and other goings on of a bloke who, and I'm sorry to say this, has now proved that you can indeed judge books by their covers and who, for decades and on national television, would boast of his, well, bonkings and other goings on.

Mind you, I struggle to find it possible that Rolf Harris was involved (unless this is all really another episode of The Goodies).

I quit over 9 years ago. The bad thing is now, as I have long hair, I wake up after going to a bar and my hair reeks of smoke. Just like right now.

The hardest part about quitting smoking in Japan for me was going into arcades... not bars.

Where did Google come in? I got no hate for Starbucks but then I don't go out and buy it because it's Starbucks. I brought back a small espresso machine from LA and have found a monkey with no experience can make cafe au lait taste good....though if I'm out and about and it's a convenient place to get a drink and chat up a lemur or something, it works.
