ハーフ baby-bot with 'tude

Postby Taro Toporific » Tue Jan 22, 2013 6:08 pm

Diego-san, a baby robot with 'tude
KurzweilAI / January 10, 2013
UCSD (University of California, San Diego) has introduced Diego-san, a new humanoid robot who mimicks the expressions of a one-year-old child. Demonstrated at CES and in a video, the robot will be used in studies on sensory-motor and social development --- how babies “learn” to control their bodies and to interact with other people.
Diego-san’s hardware was developed by two leading robot manufacturers: the head by Hanson Robotics and the body by Japan’s Kokoro Company...more...

“I’m what? A robot? … Cool! … Uh, maybe not.” Diego-san demonstrating different facial expressions, using 27 moving parts in the head alone (credit: UCSD)
Shouldn't Diego-san be called Diego-chan
since it's designed to mimic a one-year-old infant?

Who could make perfectly fuckable realdolls...

Or even behave like your average lemur shag if you unplug them (maguro and all...)

I can't wait till they have fully functional sexbots like Westworld (without the murderous rampages of course) so we won't have to deal with women and their bullshit anymore.

Lack of vagina is a major stumbling block.

SJ is actually quite traditional.

Backdoor Friday is ok...just as long as the front door hasn't been replaced with a turnstile.

Baby-bot, blah, blah, blah...

:robot:
Years later, "Affeto" the baby-bot has been improved (but still is totally useless).
