I know my English reading comprehension is going to shit after being in Japan so long. You don't mean you actually like the bread here, do you?
Find a good baker... And it will be...
Here it's Mont Thabor for komeko pan
Apita for baguette and pain de campagne.
Max value for stronger baguette and softer pain de campagne
The baker from valor for brioche and croissant (custard cream)
Overall... The bakery in town are absolutely awesome...
The original claim was that 7-11 has great bread, not that Japan has great bakeries.
About the bakeries - some make great bread similar to the one you can find at a countryside bakery in Toscana but the brad costs like a house in southern France.

And I answered that 7-11 had quite surprisingly good bread-ish stuff...

He should have asked the driver if he has any Indian blood in him and try to pay with some beads or a bottle of cheap whiskey, it works every time. (no, this offensive stupid post doesn't reflect my opinion on any race religion or culture but I always carry a small mirror in my pocket.)

My best guess is from some middle eastern country...super heavy accent...which made is cursing and insults all the more hilarious. (and reinforces why getting upset, FG are better off sticking to English)

Ehhh you're reading into it the wrong way (what SJ posted) and that's not what I was trying to say. Boss isn't religious at all nor does he have any kind of stereotypical racial look to him. I think he's only half Jewish but in that group we regularly called each other the jew (later changed to foohkin jew after said cabbie), the mexican, the negro and the indian. (it wasn't til later that we got a half k-girl, a Chinese d00d, and a Japanese guy) We all couldn't stop laughing at the cabbie insult, which just confused and infuriated him more. It's like someone asshole calling me an "indian giver" without knowing my ethnic background. Sure I could call him an ignorant fuck and explain how historically incorrect that racist shit is...but I don't take myself that seriously and the guy is an asshole so I'm more likely to laugh and say something equally stupid like "better be careful I don't scalp you!"

Yeah, I said it is not personally against you. I fully agree with what you say as long as it's not malicious. No problems with self cynical humor or using 'degrading' racial slurs with people who understand you mean no harm.
The problem with the 'Jews are cheap' is that this concept is the idiot cousin of 'Jews are good with money' which is the second halfbreed cousin of 'Jews control the world' and all of them are the retard grandchildren of 'Jews drink the blood of children' 'Jews killed Jesus' and every other wild fantasy of a medieval priest. Some Jews around the world still die every year due to those morons.
And by the way you can be a complete atheist, non religious and still be a Jew.

I never knew that historical precedent made prejudice OK. Thanks for clearing that up.
Coligny wrote:Also since when being good at something is considered bad and a prejudice ?
All true, but you forgot to mention that as a non-Japanese/foreigner you will be the victim of racism and discrimination without fail. Moreover, English is not widely spoken, or even attempted at many of the above establishment. Finally, don't even consider going if you do not have serious coin; backpackers not welcome.
Lucy Blackman, Lindsay Hawker, Nicola Furlong, Scott Kang, Richard Scott Tucker, Julia Chu, Lin Chih-ying, all young foreigners murdered because they thought Tokyo night-life was safe. There are many more cases we never hear about.
Many Japanese think the red light zones are dangerous. Governor Ishihara said he was too scared to go there, and he ordered police to arrest foreigners working there. Roppongi and Shinjuku are notorious for credit card scams, spiked drinks and drugs, yakuza violence and rip-offs. You didn't hear about those 10 guys with baseball bats beating somebody to death in front of 300 people at a dance club? Remember the Nozaki case? He got 3 years for flushing a Filipina's body parts down a toilet, got out of jail, killed another. Even famous TV host Peter Barakan was assaulted. Mainali from Nepal spent 16 years in jail for a crime he didn't commit in Shibuya red light district. The stories go on and on.
These gaijin writers, who work in government propaganda roles, would know all about these cases. Writing about cat cafes and eating dirt is one thing. Telling foreign visitors they are safe in a red light district, when they are not, is pretty bad. It's an outright lie, and a dangerous one. Why is CNN paying these people to write this? Would you tell people they are safe in sleazy bars in Pattaya or Phuket or Phnom Penh or Manila? When the next innocent foreigner dies in Tokyo, we can thank this site for keeping people blind and ignorant about Japan.
