What's your take on escalator walking?

It's good, helps people get in and out faster.

It's dangerous.

It's stupid, 2 or 3 people per step would mean smaller or no lines to get on the escalator.

This is my station and that darn escalator mocks me every time I am travelling with the stroller on my own.

There is an elevator also that takes in these 5 steps but continues down to the Oedo line and it is always in use by people who are too lazy to walk down the stairs. If I am with hubby we just pick up the stroller and walk it down those stairs.

If they replaced that stoopid escalator with a ramp (there is PLENTY of room) then it would a) save a boat load of electricity and b) allow for ease of access up AND down those 5 pesky stairs.

The only accidents I've seen in train stations here are old people falling down the stairs or getting knocked over by the crowd surge during rush hour. I guess that means walking on stairs is more dangerous than walking on an escalator.

I've seen plenty on the stairs as well but I'd say most are younger guys trying to run and lemurs with heels that are almost as high as the steps.

So far I'd say JR's campaign to curb walking on escalators has totally failed though. Too much of a deep ingrained habit to break and their campaign is worthless as usual.

when my kids were still in strollers, me and the ex would just cram up against the gal and let my sons talk to her and touch her with sticky hands...

that or sometimes i would just walk in the elevator backwards and "bump" into them. and when the doors shut i cant move so they got to know what body soap i used.

another good tactic is to just get in there and look 'em in the eyes. even with their "stunna shades" on, you can make them turn their head and what not.

my ex would just ask them why they were riding the elevator when a line of moms and old people were in queue... no answer of course... and I was so tempted to encourage my ex to fuck with them more.

that or hold the dirty diaper boy in your arms and position him to where his but was in her face... I wish i would have done that...

No, but wouldn't want to lose one either...

There are plenty of leg/foot amputation by escalator horror stories.
