I think this must have been a random event. Obviously the gunman had a thing against the Marines, but what are the chances of finding some at 4 in the morning.

Then again, he could have been waiting in ambush. Hope he is caught before he does anything else.

I'll parrot a comment I saw about this story over at Japan Today. Why no mention of the man's ethnicity? He screamed at them in Japanese, so are we to assume he's Japanese? They mention his clothes and what language he was speaking, but is it too big of a reach to report that "it's likely the man is Japanese?"

Saw the tail end of this story on the news at lunch.

"The police have determined that it was an attempted murder."

Nice to know there are professionals on the case.

I too have met some prize jerks but have managed to refrain from shooting them or being shot by them. :wink:

I hit a pedestrian going 45 mph in the US :cry:

I was on a 6 lane road in the middle 3rd lane....the two lanes beside me, near the sidewalk, were stopped but my lane was flowing traffic....a 25 year old girl stepped out between two non moving cars, in the lane next to me, and I hit her.

She got a ticket, I got nothing. She is getting money from this and its her fault. (out of my pocket becase she jay walked) Now I wish I shot her.

I think he had the right idea. (the again, my first week in Japan, I kept looking the wrong fucking way when crossing the street and almost got hit like 3 or 4 times!!!) :oops:
