Ghost in the Shell 2 website goes live

The website for GITS 2: Innocence has gone live here. It's all in Japanese and done in flash, so babelfish will be of no help to us non-speakers. There's also a short teaser trailer on the site. Release is sometime in 2004.

Translation of the trailer captions (found on Slashdot):

"Within a cyborg, there is a heart."
"She has arms and legs and everything else that makes up her body."
"But the memories that remain behind..."
"...are that of a woman alone."
"A lonely ghost's chance encounter"
Director/writer: Mamoru Oshii INNOCENCE
"Innocence... such is existence."

It almost needs an "Obsession: for men" or something at the end.

I know what you mean. I really miss a lot of the really old anime OAVs like Appleseed, Armitage III, and Ah! My Goddess. They were really well-written and I wanted to see more of their stories. And I will definitely miss the cel animation, since most anime companies don't want to use real paint anymore. Sadly, photoshop and illustrator don't come close to the feel of real paint.

Of course, that's just my two cents.

Nissan Shows Off an Animated Side
Edmunds,com-- Inside Line, 09-07-2006
Nissan has two of its concept cars featured heavily in Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex -- Solid State Society (cute title, really rolls off the tongue). This big-budget anime movie is due for release in Japan in autumn and will hit the U.S. and European markets in DVD form in 2007....

Watch the trailer of the newest, "
Ghost in the Shell SAC-SSS" here.
