Actually, the "gran-negative intracellophane diplodoci" was a readout saying "GNDC*" from an automated Siemens lab machine (in the English mode) from which the data is poured into a Japanese-labeled tables on the patient charts. Engrish, especially/mostly acronyms, in the medical charts is standard at large hospitals here in Tokyo (which makes it easy for a semi-literate like me to peek at the charts).

*GNDC is a symptom of a few types of urinary infection,
gonorrhea in 90% of the cases as well as iatrogenic (medical) causation.
