Taco Bell has grown to nearly 7,000 locations nationwide with an expanding international market. Over 80% of the restaurants are owned and operated by independent franchisees. Taco Bell is seeking a select number of highly qualified individuals to become multiple-unit owner/ operators in designated areas of the country.

What We're Looking for in Potential Franchisees...

*

A minimum net worth of $750,000 (exclusive of personal residence and property)
*

Liquid assets of $360,000
*

A minimum of five years restaurant management experience as a multiple-unit operator for five restaurants or more.
*

Strong business background with demonstrated skills in people and financial management
*

The applicant group may consist of up to five individuals and may not be a publicly traded company. The designated operator must have at least 10% ownership stake in the applicant group.
*

No individual owner or his/her immediate family in the proposed franchise entity may have an ownership interest in another Mexican-style food concept (fast food, casual dining, etc.) or be a franchisee of a national/ regional hamburger fast-food chain.

Applications for the acquisition of less than three restaurants will not be reviewed. We are also not reviewing applications for new restaurant development this year.


I'd open my Tacobell Gas-N-Go here but I just don't meet their requirements.. I only have a $749,999.99 networth LOL

I'd kill for some Taco Bell in the Kansai area.

They tried in Korea one time and it didn't last long. Pretty much the only way to get Taco Bell in Asia in on a US military base. All the bigger bases have one.

Taco Bell is one fastohoodo joint that I miss from the States.. I just wished they had one here nearby. As for a military base, no luck there either.. :(

I think however that Japanese have a preconceived notion that all Mexican food is spicey. Everytime I mention I am going to cook Mexican dishes for j-friends....
I was get comments like karaina.. or supaishi desuka...

When in fact refried beans are not spicey, nor is Mexican fried rice, chili con queso, arroz con pollo, etc..

I'd love to have some variety besides farking KFC or McDonalds...

You sure about that? My wife practically wants to move to Mexico, purely because of the food. I nearly had to drag her onto the plane home last time we visited.

On a related note, though, I was quite depressed to learn last month that she prefers "El Torito" fake-American-version-of-Mexican-food style to "Fonda de la Madrugada" style. (sorry about the harajuku-oriented references)....

Jerry's Uno??? I had the misfortune of eating their fake ass shitty wannabe crap tacos when I lived in Aichi. They'd get laughed out of town in the States. The only thing sorrier in that whole cesspool crap town are the 'buffalo wings' at Shooters. Hell, I could make better buffalo wings with my asshole! Those aren't buffalo wings they're just a crap ass j-imitation. I don't care if the owner is gaijin those buffalo wings are just typical j-crap found in every shitty izakaya.

I think there's one in Omotesando, which is basically the same as Harajuku.. Towards the JT office, and new Prada shop. At least I think it's still there.

Zapata, in Shibuya has Tex-Mex style fusion strangeness. 2,500 yen all you can eat course. Nice atmosphere for a date, friendly waiters.

Buying tortillas in Tokyo...perhaps National Azabu Supermarket in Hiroo carries them?

Another popular "Mexican" joint (actually Tex-Mex) is Zest. They're all over Tokyo. They serve tacos and burritos, but the prices are a bit high.

There's nothing like good ol' 79 cent tacos, though. Back in my college days, before we hit legal drinking age, my buddies and I would drink super cheap beer purchased from a gas station (usually Busch Lite, ugh!) and then hit Taco Bell at 2AM to satiate our late night munchies.

Now, 2AM Taco Bell has been replaced by 4AM ramen. :D

Havent been to shooters...but haver been to a few gaijin bars in the Aichi area....and I have to concur that buffalo wings fucking suck in Japan. I almost thought it was a joke when I ate them.....not to mention you only get 3 or 4 on a plate for like Y850.

I love nagoya anyway though. Tokyo sucks

Anyway I wonder does Japanese Taco Bell resemble Taco Bell out of the film 'demolition man'. Everything is probably made from tofu.

Subway is pretty weird here too, the bread is so soft i coul dbe cut by a banana skin. :banana:

yeah McD sucks in Japan too....the hamburger patties dont taste right. I would much rather go to Mosburger.....

Anyway I get horrible shits everytime I go to taco bell, so I dont miss it at all (mexican food doesnt...only taco bell) anyone else have this dilemma?

Subway totally sucks here. They don't have hot spicy salami they don't have double meat...but the true ultimate J-disappointment is definitely their totally shitty Denny's. What a phoney! No grand-slam $2.99 huge breaky nothing even fucking resembling it. Just J-Crap like all their absolutely inedible disgusting nasty ass family restuarants. When I went to Denny's and saw the menu I nearly cried. I told the manager, "You should go take that fucking sign down, this ain't no Goddamned Denny's. You're a fake!" Moss, is ok though, if you don't mind waiting an hour for a crappy burger. I wonder where they got the idea to use a yellow 'm' for their symbol. I could see that catching on.

One joint I think is better here than in the states is KFC.. though they don't have mashed potatoes and gravy. I like their twisters the dragon flavor is quite good.. Their hinomaru fries are better too. And then recently they have the green menu which I like too.

In the US it is just too damn greasy, and often times they hire young kids who spit in food and such.. :D

I used to go to KFC in the states once a month. I liked it, but J-KFC is better IMHO.

I agree about KFC and I like the Twister, too (not that dragon thing though, that's nasty). Actually, although it pains me to say good things about Japan (lol) I like Ron's House of Beef better here as well. And that's for sure about spitting in the food. I used to huck luggies into the gyros of rude costumers in my highschool days at Gyro Wrap.

I like the McChoice at McD's in J-pan. :D

Tatsuta is pretty good, but it is messy. I wished they had a broiled chicken sandwich though.. like back in the states.
