Japanese scientists find females unnecessary

Postby Taro Toporific » Tue Nov 11, 2003 3:11 pm

Image Are Women Necessary?
New York Times - Nov 11
...recent experiments with stem cells hint that women, not men, may eventually prove obsolete. need for the warmth and wealth of the comparatively massive female sex ... Japanese researchers said they could create robust little sperm cells in the lab, too but only if they began with the embryonic stem cells of a male animal....In theory, then, male starter cells could be used to make eggs and sperm, and those eggs and sperm could be mixed together to yield a new generation. ...why bother with girls, if you don't need mothers to lay those little egg cells in the first place? You could have robust diversity in the human gene pool without the need for pesky separate restrooms....

And if they think they can live without women, one has to wonder if they've ever had sex...

During my collage days I worked in the Gulf of Mexico on oil rigs. I would often stay offshore for 5 weeks at a time. There were no women and after a few weeks we turned into a primitive sort of male tribe ruled by the alpha male (hint it wasn't me). It was really bad. I can only imagine life aboard a pirate ship. (so is anyone getting any off Namy?)

We could not survive as a species without the companionship of women.

If production stops at the female factory then the current models will become rare collector's items - It may be wise to start seriously collecting a few now ...

Not that effectively. We need that great Pokeball technology so we can say "hottie chick - return!" when she starts getting too mouthy and we want to put her back in the ball until we need her. ]http://www.wheresdrew.com/images/pokeball.jpg[/img]

This is so much like Saber Marionette J it's darn scary.

Basically, it suggested that after a disastrous crash on a distant planet, survivors of the crash were left alone. All of the female crew had been killed off and their equipment had been severely damaged.

The used their cloning technology to create an all-male population and also created humanoid machines called marionettes. Certain models had Otome Kairo (Women Circuits) that were based around engrams copied from human women. These special models could actually emote, think rationally, imagine, dream, and so on.

It's like Blade Runner meets a romantic comedy.

Where can I buy?

Postby kami gaijin » Fri Nov 14, 2003 1:10 pm

Production has already started ...

Do they come with a lifetime warranty? I don't want to buy one if it's gonna break a few years down the line. Or can I trade my old models in for an upgade?

Oh, and do you have an options package that includes a mute function?

Nah not really outraged.. I know some chicks that need to have their CPU's disabled due to faulty wiring.

However, the same can be said for some of the blokes that I know.

Am I the only one in the world that doesn't subscribe to the laziness of groupism? Should I give up my quest for equality and respect of the individual's talents?

I love it when scientists think they've found a cheat around nature. It'll backfire, you'll see. The trouble with scientists is that they have no respect for a local maximum... they're always trying to find a way to game the system, but to what end?

Well, it looks like Google Image Search has let us down. Then again, searching for "women remote control" does yield other interesting results. ;)

Nature. Like I said, we pretty much have a local maximum with the way the planet functions. Rather than be happy with what we have (higher-order animals reproduce sexually, gestation takes several months, growth takes several years, all have a fixed lifespan), scientists try to figure out a way to make significant, and possibly dangerous, changes. There are very good reasons why animals have a fixed lifespan: it makes way for a new generation, possibly with a more suitable genetic makeup. Sexual reproduction, with a moderately long gestation within the female, provides an enriched genetic pool without overcrowding the existing population.

What I mean by "gaming the system" is that they want to start choosing the variables to twiddle, without fully understanding the consequences of those changes.
