FUCK YOU GOOGLE

Postby Coligny » Mon Mar 04, 2013 11:15 pm

They removed the option to blacklist domains in the google search preferences...

Resluts, now all those ehow.com bullshit get on top results...

(and they also removed the custom automated searched, that were so usefull to stalk your ex with little to no efforts...)

They seems to be getting 'too big to be of any use'

Meanwhile especially for pr0n, bing is getting the best tool ever... how good ? Able to find uncensored pictures of Sakura Cocomi on a subcategory of Hegre's archive-good...

Same search with google gives dead links, pirate DVD shopping sites and these:

Yeah, it's been annoying me for a while by second-guessing my search queries. Today I was looking for something like "Ubuntu" "Apache" "some obscure problem" and it was bringing up Apache doc pages which are entirely free of any mention of Ubuntu and only tangential to the problem in question. I presume it has some algorithm like "Oh, Apache and Ubuntu are kind of similar things and often occur together, let's treat them as synonyms".

The upside is that I'm getting back into the habit of keeping my own notes on all the obscure problems I deal with, as I can no longer rely on Google to find things like it used to do. Heck, I'll be using bookmarks again next...

I have similar experiences with Google. Seems to list commercial sites at the top, even though I am not interested to buy yet. I am using Yahoo more an more, but it is only slightly better.

Bing you said? I'll try that one next time.

IIRC Yahoo sources its search results from Google. Or Bing. I don't recall which.

Yahoo Japan uses Google but I don't think they do in other markets.

Anyway, I'm glad the Google hate is spreading.

Aha, here we are - they are using Bing now:

except, as you note, in Japan, but Yahoo! Japan!!!1!11 is basically a separate operation anyway...
