There are always psychopathic personalities who want to exert control over others, so it does not surprise me that they have volunteers for that...

Anyways, Yanpa, I haven't been to Toronto since Thatcher and Mulroney were still Prime Ministers, but they do in Vancouver. The green zombie drones.

On my last couple of visits to Korea I've been surprised by how much more civil they've become. The only aggressive drunk I had to deal with last time was a French dude (I guess he could have been Canadian).

Good to hear, SJ. I think it's social and situational at Narita: they're the Shopping Bags on a trip with other like minded Shopping Bags and I find it hard to believe Koreans don't have a Tabi no haji ha kakisute thing going. Everything else seems Plug & Play so why not that too? Not that I know.

BTW, I would like to compliment you on your new avatar, but it's kinda freakin' me out. I almost had an aneurysm when I saw that broadcast on national TV at a semi-decent hour. That was back when I still had standards and morals. I wonder if that was a stunt cock. If not, we know why Tamao is still smiling so brightly.

Now that they've learned how to behave in public I'm hoping they'll start working on keeping their public toilets clean. That'll probably take at least another 20 years though.

At least they have public toilets.

Try to find that in the Netherlands.

File under 'heightened tensions on the Korean peninsula'

In March and April, something resembling an unmanned aircraft appeared over South Korean airspace and came to grief on terra firma. Whatever the unidentified flying object was, it was painted blue.

North Korea denied all knowledge of the incidents.

Fast-forward to last week when a chap taking in the sights of Cheonggye-Don, a mountain adjacent to a town near Seoul, spotted something blue amid the foliage.

The chap called South Korean authorities who, according local newswire Yonhap, decided the blue ruin was worthy of investigation and ascended the mountain.

Yonhap says that expedition found the blue object, which upon closer examination “turned out to be part of a broken door of a mobile lavatory”.

And back... No particular complaints, would fly with same airline again.

Though the Vancouver - Narita segment was served by an aged 767 (presumably the same one the cabin crew trained on  ), but it was nice and uncrowded and I ended up with an exit row to myself.
