Cops find loan shark database creator
Yomiuri Shimbun Nov 16
A 41-year-old man who built a customer management database for an illegal moneylending group was paid 82 million yen for his maintenance of the database and other computer-related work by 27 affiliates of the group... during a 2-1/2-year period ending February... Goryokai--an affiliate of the nation's largest organized crime syndicate, Yamaguchi-gumi--made all payments to its affiliated organizations in cash..."In order to deal with the large number of clients nationwide, we had to lend and collect money efficiently," a former employee of the network said. "Perhaps the system was even more efficient than that of a normal company."

Okay, so he's smart enough to cook up this system and get paid consistently - and quite well - by the Yaks for it. Then he gets all the payments sent directly to himself?

Hello? Money laundering?
