A statue of Spider-Man was removed from side of a South Korean mall because the iconic superhero was sporting a gigantic erection. According to Kotaku, artist Eunsuk Yoo was commissioned to re-create Spider-Man which was placed on the side of the Lotte Shopping Center in Busan.
The statue shows the character upside down with a giant boner. The Spider-Man replica was first placed on the outside of the mall in 2013 and sits above the mall's playground and rest area. After the mall started receiving numerous complaints, they told Yoo to either modify it or take it down.
Instead of making any changes to his work, Yoo decided to have the sculpture removed but was very upset about it, Kotaku reports. On his Facebook page, the artist defended the statue writing (translated by Kotaku),
"I am the artist who made this piece. My reason for it was that I wanted apply the natural physical phenomenon to a superhero depict what's natural in the morning without lies and superficial-ness in a comical way.
