They're showing these on Japanese MTV right now. They're better than MTV in Japanese, which has gone belly up 3 times it's so bad. The in-house CMs and "shorts" on Japanese MTV are the only thing worth watching. As bad as US MTV is, the Japanese version beats it pure suckitude.

Well, there's no point in waiting for Episode III, since the Clone Wars take place before it. What a jip.

Oh, and the Cartoon Network online feed doesn't work outside the US. :(

However....try the links in this thread from this message board.
And if all else fails, I can send you the files since I have them on my comp.

Good links, AO. Thanks. Very fast too. I was able to pull 'em down 4 at a time at 220k/sec each. :)

I'll use that board for grabbing the rest as they come out.

Point taken, Ultra - no more links.

I'll just say that Episode 8 is out and leave it at that. :)

Nah, I guess we'll just use this topic for discussion. No sense making another one.

Spoilers in topic from here on out

So I'll start it off with a question: Who's your favorite character? Kit Fisto, he aqua-Jedi? Asaji ventress, the wannabe-Sith chick? Moody Anakin? The plucky Clone Troopers? Durge, the bounty hunter? Somebody else?

For me it's close running between Kit and Asaji. The only quibble I've got with the series so far is that they're making the Jedi's powers stronger than we've seen them in the movies. Not a terribly big deal, but I do like continuity.

For those wanting to view the official Cartoon Network flash site, but don't like the automatic new window that fills your whole frickin' screen, use this link.

Well for one, its a cartoon. But the Jedi powers don't seem THAT overblown..., I mean, in Empire Strikes Back, Darth Vader was deflecting laser bolts with his HANDS. And Obi-Wan WAS his master.

I have to say Kit ROCKS. The underwater force powers was just awesome. And yes, that sith chick is cool, but I thought obi-wan on a speeder with his lightaber out skidding away from camera was just the coolest scene.

Yeah, I'm digging Kit so far. Hopefully we'll see more of him.

This scene was cool:

but it reminded me of something else.

What was it....?

Oh yeah!

Ya think maybe that was intentional? :)

Durge rocks. Reminded me of the black knight in some of the tales of King Authur. :D I am dredding the death of the Jedi.. it will be a very different ending to what normally is good triumphs over evil. This cartoon series is excellent and thanks to whoever posted the news about it, and the removed links :D

I think it silly that only those in the US can download them.. freely... but foreigners can't. But that is just how it is I guess. :D Thank god for that AOL/Timewarner server

How many will they release? I heard it could go up to 60 or something like that? Is that a rumor or something?

It's all about intellectual property (funny to use that phrase when referring to Star Wars and not mean it ironically) and territory rights. They're not even airing in Canada because some Canadian cable toon channel bought the rights and won't air them until next year.

There will be a total of 20 episodes - the 10 coming out this month and 10 more next spring. The whole story will total one hour. I've heard there will be a DVD of the first 10 released after they're done airing, then a second disc after the spring episodes.

From the first 8, I get the impression it's all been plotted out and written. And to a much higher standard than Lucas holds his own work. I'll find it very amusing if Clone Wars ends up outshining Episode 3.

LOL. Nah, I didn't really make the Tetsuo connection (until you mentioned it), but I can definitely see it now.

Damn, just 2.5 more hours until Chapter 10 shows up, and then it's nothing for a few months. I can only imagine the cliffhanger they're going to leave us with...

It would seem to me to limit the distribution would actually cause more piracy.. that or inflate the price...

Limiting distribution can (and does) create piracy. It also enables Cartoon Network to sell a broadcast/distribution license in as many territories as they can.
