Did you see what they did in the new transformer movie? The "improved" transforming looks like someone forgot a bunch of frames in premier and just hit animate anyways...floating swirl of pixels that snakes somewhere to re materialize. How do you even make toys that do that? Isn't the whole inspiration for these movies, the neat transformations? Yeah, they brought the dinobots on board...but in a pretty weird way. Honestly though, if any of the studios are taking notes on how successful GOT is and realize that showrunners/writers that are actual fans of the source material can make for some amazing shit, there might be hope.

Originally... The anime was cheap crap, with boring as fuck characters and storylines... Just wait for the TMNT movie for another shitfest of the same level...

The equalizer was bazillion times deeper, with fleshed and evolving characters. Mc Call dealing with his ghosts, the slow resolutions of the conflict with his son, dealing with the death of his infant daughter leading to his divorce, the realization that in fine he was his job and trying to get away from it would lead nowhere.

It's like the season 1 of Airwolf, except from the fact that they didn't hide much of the fact that Hawk was a PTSD trainwreck bound for a padded cell who managed to get away with it thanks to the somewhat dodgy excuse of holding on the chopper, like if they needed it to breed more and not just some blueprint and an assembly booklet...

It's funny listening to all the fanboys bitch about how the TMNT movies are ruining the source material by which they mean the cartoon. As a kid who read the comic books first, I hated the cartoon when it came out. The different colored headbands, surfer dude accents, skateboarding, and pizza obsession had nothing to do with the comics. There was a simple solution though. I didn't watch to cartoon and kept reading the comics.

However, turning the turtles into giant steroid monkeys with noses and making Shredder a honkey in a mechanized suit are shocking changes even by shitty Hollywood standards.

No the creators sold out and once they became millionaires lost interest in making comics which lead to a revolving door of guest artists and writers who pretty much ruined the story which was why I stopped reading it. I can't say I blame them though. If I were fuck-you rich, I wouldn't work either.
