Why is Looney Tunes: Back in Action on the list?

Who Framed Roger Rabbit? was nominated for (but didn't win) Best Art Direction-Set Decoration; Best Cinematography; Best Sound.

It was nominated for (and won) Best Effects, Sound Effects Editing; Best Effects, Visual Effects; Best Editing

It also received a Special Achievement Award for animation direction and creation of the cartoon characters.

I realize there was no "Best Animated Feature" Oscar in 1989, but I'd say even though WFRR and LT:BiA contain animation, they are not animated features.

I personally think they need to stop denying movies because of their original release dates. It's a big conspiracy theory I tell ya. Not only does it allow for less competition for the American crap like Jungle Book 2, but it also keeps foreign films from getting as much screen and press time in the US simply because they were originally earlier released.

That means that any anime that gets to go to the Oscars has had hardly any American press, I would tend to think.

Ah well, good thing I have the Bebop movie on DVD... hehe.
