Did you ever see Fur Fighters? It was on the Dreamcast and the PC. (There was also a cel-shaded remake/port on the PS2.) Cute little animals, armed with high-powered weapons! A dog, cat, penguin, kangaroo, Chinese panda and a baby dragon all going at it. I had the DC version, and although the single-player wasn't the greatest, 4-player mode was sweet.

How can you not love that? :D

I'm giving this topic an "info-bump" of sorts since I finally got to spend some quality time with an Xbox.

In a word - NICE!

One of my friends bought one and promptly got it chipped. The chip shop even loaded him up with a few emulators and other goodies - multi-region DVD and an on/off switch for the chip (to keep Live! functional).

I spent some time yesterday and today putting Mechassault, True Crime: Streets of L.A. and Need for Speed: Underground through their paces and was quite pleased.

As nice as the new games are, the emulators are a huge selling point for me, as is the multi-region DVD. Plus, you can FTP right to the Xbox's hard drive and load up more goodness. There are emulators available for almost every old console out there. Gets nostalgia!

The only thing holding me back is the price for the bundle here in Korea. $192 for the system, two games (Ghost Recon:Island Thunder & Splinter Cell) and 2 months of Live! service. I wish we had the Japan bundle here - system, extra controller, DVD remote, 2 months of Live! and 2 games (Project Gotham Racing 2 & Halo) for $183. A much, much better deal. PGR2 is brand new, for pete's sake! (Yet they still sell the system by itself for $155 with nothing extra. Who buys that?!?)

Then again, I could sell my PS2 to offset the cost...
