Nintendo will hold an exhibition called Level X commemorating the Famicom's 20 year anniverary.

Level X will take place at Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography from December 4th to February 8th; the exhibition will have in display all Famicom related stuff, from games to peripherals like ROB or the Twin Famicom.

Also part of the anniversary celebration was a poll among Japanese Famicom fans of their favorite games for the system. Here are the top 10 picks:

1. Dragon Quest III
2. Super Mario Brothers
3. Mario Brothers
4. The Legend of Zelda
5. Dragon Quest
6. Dragon Quest II
7. Final Fantasy III
8. Dragon Quest IV
9. Xevious
10. Ice Climber

Short article, the full list and a bit more info can be found here.

Anybody up for a trip to the museum? :D

Having worked at Nintendo Software Technology on the new snowboard game 1080, I am happy to hear that people are nostalgic. For me, Dragon Quest III was my fav.
I saw the little museum at the Nintendo Building in Redmond, WA too, but its nowhere near that big...

I still keep my famicon...never ... let ...go.

i mailed the writer of video fenky bout this with full details of place, guests etc a good month ago but he didnt run the story

possibly due to some glaring errors he made around that time i pointed out or more likely due to the volume of mail he gets..

be kewl to go just to meet the guys from ape ...

saw the nice famicom vid fenegi mentioned a few months back advertised in famitsu feat 20 yrs of famicom goodness with some good film, interview stuff etc, pricey at 3500 yen but will have to pick it up... now if only theyd release a similar thing for msx/sfamicom/x6800 et al.... ^^
