Japanese beer is shit

Back stateside my family does beekeeping, (not so much as a business but out of tradition) I gotta do something with all the extra honey they send me and we make pretty good mead and honey ales. Mead can be pretty much whatever you want. Sourwood trees make high malt honey so the mead comes out richer almost lagerish, buckwheat honey makes an interesting mead because the honey is so black.

I've only tried it a couple of times but what I've had has been too sweet for my taste. Plus there's also the the psychological effect that associating it will Renaissance festival types has on my ability to enjoy it.

I can relate at least in part. I don't care for the association that comes with it. And renaissance types just remind me of hippies or basement dwellers still living in mom and dad's house that found a hobby.

And the Emu is sashimi. Knowing very first hand about the harvesting of emu oil from the fat deposits, and knowing that you would want fatty flesh for the sashimi (I am pretty sure that emu thigh would be stringy), I can tell you that you would want a pretty strong beer to be able to wash that one down.
