According to sources, Jiji Press's articles about Prince William's upcoming Japan visit featured a photo of him. The wax version of him, that is, from Madam Tussaud's in New York.

　時事通信社は２８日、英国のウィリアム王子として配信した写真について、「本人ではなくろう人形の写真だった」と訂正した。今年１０月に米ニューヨークのマダム・タッソーろう人形館でＥＰＡ通信が撮影した写真を誤って配信したという。

Apparently the writer pulled the photo from an internal photo database but did not bother to read the English explanation. It stayed online for a day until they pulled it and replaced it with a photo of the human version.

I am not positive this is the right one, but if so, Google still has some of the original version cached:

Just thought this story was cute. Though probably certain web sites will claim this is actually some kind of micro-aggression.
