In their Monday morning editions, most German papers blamed goalkeeper Oliver Kahn for the loss after his first mistake of the tournament — failure to hold a shot from Rivaldo — enabled Ronaldo to score on a rebound in the 67th minute.

What is WITH the freakin' German media? They praise him as a football god one minute and turn on him the next. How can you expect a human being to be flawless, especially against a good, attacking Brazilian team? Jeez, they are way too unforgiving. I'm surprised anyone wants to play soccer for their country if they risk a bitter, ungratefu public outcry the minute they get beaten. People infer way too much meaning from these games, thinking that victory or loss is a reflection of their national character.

I think Kahn might have hurt his hand before the Rivaldo shot. I think he was kicked while making another save. Been wrong many times before. Any soccer/football fans?
