A few flakes of snow here now. What a flipping cheek. Go back to the mountains on the other side where you belong.
It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Hole Hell, I have never experienced the wind we had early this morning! IT was much stronger than any typhoon that has passed through here. I just have come back in from viewing the carnage done to all of my Christmas decorations! My wife has been running around the neighborhood picking up bits and pieces of stuff that was blown all over hell's half acre. I'll post a picture of the lights once I get things back up and running.

The wild weather seems to be quite localised. We had a bit of wind overnight down here near the southern Miyagi coast, but certainly not the strongest we've ever had, and it has turned into a nice mild morning. Snow predicted for tomorrow though.

Pleasantly, hmm, not cold here in Tokyo. No idea what the temperature is here in the FG Penthouse Suite, but I'm still clad in standard home worker's attire with no discomfort.

You have all those great tools.

Isn't it time to unpack them and start isolating your bunker?

I don't think you realize the size of the bunker... Or the multiplication factor involved for some tasks when done alone.

Just an example: folding a 6mat carpet with wrinkles in a 6 mat room with few unmovable appliance/furniture:
Alone 2h and failure because I would have needed a helper jig to be made...
2 persons: 15 minutes

Now, for the size of the building...

Why not try room by room and make it a multi-year project?

You have to start somewhere.

(and throw out the useless stuff)

Edit: Hmm, that's quite a sizable building. Reason the more to start tomorrow early morning...

Even this is an adventure, need to call a company, need signature from dad, the company won't deal with a gaijin who might be stealing stuff to send them to the trash... And on and on and on. Welcome to the last 6 years of my life...

Plus, all the contractors dealing with the clinic seems to be the worst pigfuckers of the land. For a waterheater install I had to tell them to either do what I asked or get the fuck out. They played the "you're not the owner" and the "it's not possible" they started to stfu when even me Julie started to notice they were full of shit to the point of spilling on the floor and started ripping them a new one by my side.
Plumbing contractor: wiggly loo seat, need a replacement bolt on the floor, they say, too old, they don't make these kind of anchor bolts (a J bolt) they overtighten the other side, result the base of the ceramic shatter on the floor. Now it's not wiggly, it's free floating, taking a shit is and adventure on its own.
Electric company, the whole building was at 50 amp tri-wire, needed 100 amp, ask dad, he took the appointment for the next week. Instead of putting 100amp spread (100 amp per wire, but 100 amp total.) they put 50-50 and 100 total i argued and lost for 2 hours with the sucker who went "you don't need that much" the "it's not technically possible" bad luck for him, I had the blueprints, what I asked was just the the original setup, so he jsut went "it's not done like this anymore" result, depending on the plug distribution I have 50 amp or 100 available, I have to doublecheck the blueprint of the building before knowing how or even If i can use the vacuum cleaner and a heater at the same time in a room...

They took the habit since the openning of the clinic to bill stuff but to do little to nothing. I mean, when there is a plug with and earth connector, if you look behind the wall plate, the green earth wire is tied to a nail put on a wood 2x4 holding the drywall. How this kind of shit passed inspection is beyond my understanding. And don't get me started on the HVAC contractor, if I see these fuckers i'm going to give them a kerosene enema and use them to lit the parking at night...

You expect this kind of shit in Vietnam were everything goes with the flow at its own pace, and you don't really care because the place is nice, the food awesome and you are not lectured on the local racial superiority at every corner.
Despite the issues, everything is mostly done in good faith and tend to solve by itself. The only real way to make shit go south is to add a local jap employe to the mix, then there is not limit to what can not be done... (Looking at you Mariott Renaissance Riverside Saigon, had to shove in their face all the printout of the reservation and tariffs before they stopped trying to overcharge, the J-cunt even had to call to homeland before giving up on trying to fuck us).

In a shithole like Japan. That's beyond inadmissible. The minute the trains stops running on time the place need to be cut of the planet to save oxygen that would be better used even for baby killing dingos. You are surrounded be incompetent inbreds thinking their shit don't smell who like Takechan wish we'd go back home to let them dutchrudder themselves while thinking they are on top of the food chain. Bad luck for them, we are home, bad luck for us, now they go full planet of apes with their powerplants too...

Damn, where's mah pills, because, if I start with their pediatrist and neonatalist we're stuck here until morning...
Ob-gyn are not blessed either... Seems at least 2 of them for the local hosp are just over the point of incompetence and reach in the 'dangerous' where not only they suck but they also think they are the greatest thing to modern medicine since Joseph Mengele...

Relax Coligny...I haven't even laid the foundation on my cabin and I'm already having to come up with all kinds of work arounds because the local cartel/mafia style capitalism is so anti DIY/competition that building something on your own is seen like spitting on their family graves.

We can't do that because...[insert illogical excuses here] should replace kimigayo as the national anthem

So back on topic...the "insulated on paper" building my stuff is stored in...apparently it's soo cold inside that shit is literally breaking. I just got a pic of a bunch of various cracked/exploded stuff.
