I have set my location to japan for my hotmail account. So I am not normaly supprised when it opens in weird fonts or bigger, you know if you have been using the japanese version and english version.

I knew Microsoft was going to relaunch it, well today it changed and it is totaly weird. Aparently it wont work on anything other than Wandos and IE. My liniux computer is not connected to the net just now but i trust this guy:

So far (for now anyways) Safari v1.1.1 on OSX 10.3.1 can still access it okay. The layout is the new one, but I had no problem getting in and reading my mail.

I have heard of users installing IE on Linux using Wine. It's not impossible. Though outlook, I've never heard of it.

I use IE for browser, Eudora for email and Newsbin for Usenet. Why not use IE instead of worrying if it works in opera? Or why not use one of the other billions of free email services?

Ie doesn't have native popup blocking, tabbed browsing, themes, the toolbars are not resizeable, built in debugging (mozilla betas have it so if you get an error you can send it in to them, and they can log it and attempt to fix it), etc..

Text zooming in IE sucks (little, big, bigger, biggest LOL) with mozilla, text zooming ranges from 100% to 50% and 150% in either direction.

Plus speed tests show that most of the alternative to IE browsers load and execute faster and they are safe as well to use.

Yeah and Netscape used to be that 99.9% userbase. Dont blame microsoft for the majority wanting to use it. I for one dont give a crap about any of those features you listed....which is why I use IE.....so I am part of that majority. Its my fault you have no choice, not MS. I could install a free version of linux, use mozilla and other crap software (like the gimp instead of photoshop) if need really be. But I just dont care, my IE works great, cause I dont care if my browser cooks omellets for me or not.

Im glad my computer is fast as lightning and use cable though....cause I would hate to have a computer and connection so slow that load time on a browser matters.

I can see if you like those features and dont want to give them up....so dont use hotmail. Use yahoo mail, angel fire mail, freemail or whatever else there is.

I was simply giving an opinion. I used to think IE was the only browser. Now I think it is one of many to use. I rarely use it because of the tabbed browsing feature in Mozilla. I can setup Mozilla to open 10 of the most frequently visited pages that I browse daily.

It really is great, but if the basic features of IE are all that you care about, then IE is your browser.

Some people like government cheese, others like Gouda, Cheddar, Mozzarella, and so on.

To me, IE is the government cheese.. hard, crumbly, very little taste but it fills you up..

That's so sad! That few will ever know the blessing of receiving a 5lb BRICK of American cheese. Or that 2lb block of butter (we only used about half of it by the end of each month). It certainly made the beans taste better though...and for those who may be wondering...WE GOT RICE TOO!

Sadly - or not - Velveeta is the best cheese for the money in Korea. The locally produced stuff is disgusting and greasy, but Velveeta is like cheesy slices of gold. Melts perfectly and makes great cheese ramen. It runs about $5-6 for the 20-slice pack, but it's totally worth it.
