Is JR Kyushu going to the goats?

JR Kyushu to make stations staffless
The Tokyo Reporter January 18, 2015
FUKUOKA (TR) --
JR Kyushu will by 2016 operate its 100 biggest stations without any staff. The company, which plans to go public next year, is looking for ways to cut costs and improve efficiency. The first 50 or so stations will go staffless this spring...
{big snip}

So without staff, what happens to stations? One has solved the problem by making a goat stationmaster. Full story...

Hasn't choko taught you by now that everything the Japanese do is stupid and subpar to the way Americans do things?

FTFY, and don't blame Choko for the systemic stupidity of the locals.

These dudes pay Amtrak to connect their cars to the back of their trains and such. Not exactly the same as getting on a green car but pretty rad if you get invited or are able to pay your way on to one of their trips.

Plenty of things done better in Japan than in the U.S....unfortunately, for every one of those, there are 5 things that are done better in other countries :twisted: SJ, keep in mind that if I bitched about Japan as much as I do here, I wouldn't be a very fun person to be around in person. Venting on FG, where others might actually understand my frustration seems a reasonable solution, no? (though my post above wasn't really a dis at Japan as much as just trying to expand on what Coligny posted)

Great... SJ is PMSing again... The truce afforded by his previous vacashiun lasted exactly 2 weeks...
