'So many gaijin morons who live & work here and run amok'

Postby Taro Toporific » Sat Feb 28, 2015 10:53 am

Danny takes his spooged-on, wanking, "Mirai" doll to the Cool Japan Strategy Committee.

Cool Japan Strategy Committee
dannychoo.com | 2015/Feb/27
...
Today I'm pleased to let you know that the Japanese Cabinet has now appointed me as a member of their "Cool Japan Strategy Committee" [クールジャパン戦略推進会議] - a larger scale initiative...
...One of my main focuses is as always to change the visa requirements for undergraduates - folks who for various reasons have not been to university but want to work in Japan.
A Japanese working visa usually requires applicants to either have graduated from university or have 10 years of expertise in a particular field.
Japan needs young folks who are passionate to come and help spread the culture. By the time they graduate, many folks forget about what they used to love because they have been so engrossed with their uni studies and when they do graduate - many just end up staying in their country as they need to either pay off loans or have lost their passion for Japan etc. This also means that Japan has less (sic, fewer) "ambassadors."
Having the university degree requirement does not guarantee Japan that only top class folks will enter the country - I presume thats why the requirement is in place. On the contrary, there are so many gaijin morons who live and work here who run amok and do bad things which makes the rest of us gaijin look bad.
In my eyes - the degree requirement must be removed in order for Japan to be able to rally the help of young folks who love the land of the rising sun.

japan is one of representative "rehabilitation facilities" for loser western fellows who were bulllied like a cockroach and dont even talk to women/men in their childhood because of their physical, mental, racial, ethnic, or religious problems since Lafcadio Hearn's era
as long as being a student, its not bad to live in japan. but after got to be a full‐fledged member of society here, you would have to quit being human being in modernistic means. so go back to your country or another asian shitholes as soon as you finish your rehabilitaion lessons here.

The ironic thing is that this is from some guy who thinks an adult watching cartoons and buying dolls is more normal than a guy in his 20s getting drunk and fucking random women.

I recently was at a lecture that dealt with promoting Japanese culture abroad - the guy started off by pointing out that most people aren't interested in anime or manga overseas and perceive those who are as messed up. The thing is that there is a lot of Japanese culture that could be promoted (food, stuff like kimono making and Kiyomizu yaki), but for some dumb reason the government chooses to try and promote manga.

Maybe a generation issue? "Japanese culture" to people of my old generation would mean ikebana, kimono and bonsai, while youngsters seem to be much more into anime, manga, video-games stuff. I don't think, the J-government would want to attract old farts like me, they have enough of those themselves.

You wonder why there are so many foreigners on those committees. They picked the biggest global otaku because they know he will agree with everything just to say he is on the committee (and he may just suck a dick or two).

Is this Danny Choo character a usual suspect of this sort of drivel? He writes like a retarded ladyboy. That babblespeak about revising the work visa requirements to further enable gushing Weebos too stupid and lazy to get theit shiite together sounded like it came from a precocious 8 year old that writes letters to the editor about why the voting age should be reduced to age 5.

What a complete idiot. Who ever said that immigration policy should be based on people's self professed love of a country? That's absolutely no way to carry on.

1. It's easy to fake and unverifiable.
2. People fall out of love just as easily and often as they fall in love.
3. Love famously doesn't pay the bills.

It needs to looked at an objective way - What has the applicant got to offer and what does the host require. That doesn't mean only graduates of decent universities need apply by any means but it's definitely an advantage. However, also important, are vocational skills, family connections, financial resources, business acumen and indeed just a willingness to work hard at low paying, low status but necessary jobs.

A love of Manga, Anime, Karage or anything else Japanese isn't important at all. Just a respect for and commitment to obey the law and social mores is plenty enough.
It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Nice. I was worried it was just me. He reminds me of half my Monbusho scholarship intake cohort, only 4 of whom made it for the long haul.

But that slander of Karaage was a touch off. If not for that and Yakiniku I might not have made it through the first 2 years, before I acquired a tolerance for thermometer juice laden raw sea cow.

Inflames,

In your experience Is it kosher to mention that most of us regard Anime and Manga dweebs as just that? I recently had some rather strong criticism of my failure to celebrate their celebration of that which should stay uncelebrated by both normal Japanese and their dweeby dorkheaded foreign Weebo friends. Just curious, but hopeful all the same.

:keyboardcoffee:

I think maybe he secretly hates Japan? Think of how quickly this place would fill with the world's broke ass, jobless, otaku that would rather escape reality than "get a real job." He has definitely mastered the appeal to the J-gov ego though..."but but but they love Japan!"

There are also many (not all) disgruntled gaijin who hate living here - they form websites dedicated for gaijin to rant together at how much they hate Japan.

LOL, is he referring to debito or FG? I think if a FG "hates" living in any country, the answer is obvious....you leave. On the other hand, no country is perfect. When shit is lacking, ignoring it is not a solution...not being able to take criticism objectively and calling it "hate" is...well...NPD at a country/nationalistic level?

Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD)

When criticized, narcissists show themselves woefully incapable of retaining any emotional poise, or receptivity. And it really doesn't much matter whether the nature of that criticism is constructive or destructive. They just don't seem to be able to take criticism, period. At the same time, these disturbed individuals demonstrate an abnormally developed capacity to criticize others.

Although narcissists don't show it, all perceived criticism feels gravely threatening to them. Deep down, clinging desperately not simply to a positive but grandiose sense of self, they're compelled at all costs to block out any negative feedback about themselves. Their dilemma is that the rigidity of their defenses, their inability ever to let their guard down, guarantees that they'll never get what they most need, which they themselves are sadly--no, tragically--oblivious of.

To better grasp why narcissists are so ready to attack others and so unable to deal with being attacked themselves, it's useful to understand something about their childhood. People aren't born narcissistic--it's powerful environmental influences that cause them to become so.

Oh boy... This is not even skimming the top...

That one: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissi ... y_disorder
Is barely a primer on the topic... Unless you go eagerly diving on the 5 subtypes.

The best part is the collateral damage to family members. But I have yet to dig enough on the separation between 1st and 2 generation narcissists. Every time I find narcissists children 'survivors' it's on 'buy my books' website...

I think it's pretty normal for foreigners in Japan to be concerned about how other foreigners are behaving. It's a smallish group in a somewhat delicate situation that can easily be upset by just one dumbfuck behaving like a bull in a china shop. I get that. But it is usually good to look at how oneself is behaving and/or being perceived at the same time.

Right...but he's using "gajin morons" as juice to his "Visa's requirements based on educational achievements is obviously not working, they should be based on love of Japan" assertion. Also, "run amok" sure sounds more descriptive of the passive aggressive nature of "so many" of the locals than "so many gaijin morons who live & work here."

Tampering with the honour of the motherland is effectively a cause to call for beheading for some local specimens...

Those people and the people reacting to an individual action as if it was a national trait are called morons... and there is a lot of them in Japan...

And then there are some foreign people who go out of their way to identify with the country of their birth. There is truly a complete spectrum of attitudes, with people all over the continuum.

That said, due I think to a lack of experience in relating to other cultures, the tendency here in Japan is to lump people into a tidy group and deal with them as a member of that category, rather than as individuals.

I agree, but given that the Venn Convergence Factor on those 2 terms is > 8/10 I try really hard to let it slide. I only get mischievous when one of Them gets pissy and insists on using either after I have mentioned my nationality. For people like that I don't think it's a lack of exposure, but rather abject stupidity and that weird pissy etiquette thing where it's rude for me as The Guest to not accede to The Host's chosen line of stupidity. It's like a bad Face off.

That was what I was getting at...I don't unrealistically expect them to automatically know what country I'm from but after that bit of info is put on the table, the continued 海外では、外国では、外人は、外人が is a little too much to let go. You can base their social intelligence on how quickly they pick up on not so subtle hints like 「他の国の文化はよく分からないけどアメリカでは。。。」but sometimes the chosen line of stupidity is so drilled into them, it all flies over them. To be fair though, most of the non-American people I know are the ones that take the most issue with this stuff (sick of it being assumed they're American, English is their native tongue, etc.) and I can't blame em...

Reminds me of my younger years when I cycled to my work and often passed a group of kids around the age of 7. When I told them I was not the アメリカ人 they called me, but an 宇宙人, they didn't believe me, but after I told them I was an オランダ人, they always addressed me correctly thereafter. Good memories.
