Image Electricity to control gamers' posture
AFP / Wed, 10 Dec 2003
Japanese telecom giant NTT has succeeded in controlling human posture by applying weak electric current and is aiming to use the technology to develop realistic simulation games
The electrodes are connected to a remote control device enabling a weak electric current to be administered to affect the part of the inner ear that controls the sense of balance.
Researchers found they could change the posture of people by manipulating the electric current, which is at an extremely low level, Sawaki said. NTT hopes to use the technology to develop more realistic games for driving and flight simulation, making players' bodies lean as they corner or pull gravity inducing turns at the controls.

Actually, thinking about this would be a great training tool for a space program. You could test for space-sickness without ever leaving the ground and without using that gyro thingy, freeing them up for scientists who've had a go at making the ultimate margaritas!

IF it existed and you had one of these units, what would you do with it/use it for?

Me, I would have to go with seeing if it could make me vomit by hooking it to a randomizer program tied into some really fast techno or industrial music! :bounce: :puke:
