Antique shops

Postby Cyka UchuuJin » Fri Jun 12, 2015 9:49 pm

Anyone know of any in Tokyo or Osaka? Specifically I am looking for a vintage gumball machine.

Surely with all the obsession of Americana here there must be some shops that will have these?

I used to know a Brazilian couple who picked up beautiful antiques at flee markets.

There should be good ones in Tokyo.

I suspect GG may know some.

Western "antiques" in Tokyo shops often look more like over-priced junk to me

The wife tells me Japanese "antiques" are also over-priced junk, they just look exotic to us gaijin

Takayama was shock full of antique shops last time I went...

Plus the place have that countryside shithole feel... But in a good way... Just remote enough to weather an apocalypse while still having electricity and indoor plumbing before shit hit the fan...
