Actually he will be delighted - The more enmity and conflict the better as far as a real racist is concerned. Discovering he and his peers are all descended from Koreans might not be such welcome news.
It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Except that you guys are suggesting that the people that left that bit back then were Korean. They weren't. Rubbish essentialism is for Americans and Asians. But at least we can now laugh hysterically at all you white fecks being descended from Africans or Indians. If only we had enough weirdo whites around to care if we did :cry2:
Seriously, though: great Take teasing fun, but barely worthy of Choko in one of his pissy moods. It was never in question, and Yayoi are Korean like Franks are English.

Sorry, race based essentialising white people. :spin:

PS weird residual racist BS, btw. Take bashing I get, but seriously folks.............. ;)

nobody deny part of japanese are descendants of ancient korean.

and its also true that ancient korean are not the same with comtemporary korean.
for example, regarding j-emperors ancestor as korean is the same with regarding Jesus as arab.
im sure that you westerners will desperately deny it.

and recently it was discovered that oldest trasmmision of rice cultivation to japan is from around Yangtze river in china
by inspecting the dna of rice fossils. its when the place currently called east china sea was still land.

The truth is actually even funnier.

Jesus was not only not an Arab, Jesus just was not anything at all...

Well, my list would be topped by A-Nationalists, and this newer type of Cdn nationalists (Canamericans? Amerinadians?) coz they carry guns and shiite, but I admit there is probably a touch of my Boycott Korea! sentiment in my defence of the Yayoi. Who came from what is now the Korean peninsula in the same way Britons came from what is now Basqueland and are by that logic therefore separatist terrorists :cry2: . Using those anachronistic reductions isn't just wrong, it's stoopid too.

But nice to get some proper scientific confirmation of what we and most thinking Japanese already knew.

Korean man arrested for boiling 600 cats alive, selling the meat for use in soup
Cat lovers may want to sit down for this.

South Korean police arrested a 54-year-old man on suspicion of catching up to 600 stray cats around his neighborhood, boiling them alive, skinning and gutting the carcasses and then selling the meat to locals for use in a special medicinal soup.

The Korea JoongAng Daily reported on the incident on May 21, writing that the Pusan Police Department arrested the man on May 21 on charges of violating Korea’s animal protection laws, although the case appears to still be under investigation.

The man is accused of luring neighborhood stray cats with food, then capturing them and throwing them – alive – into a vat of boiling water in his home. He would then, police allege, skin and butcher the cats and store the meat in his freezer until buyers came around.

Police, the JoongAng Daily reports, were quoted as saying that a rumor has been doing the rounds in South Korea – presumably among the elderly community – which purports that cat meat, if boiled in a soup, helps to relieve arthritis

Oh, the Rah Rah ones with the maple leaf embossed backpacks that go spazzy when mistaken for Americans???? Sure. I meant more the sort of armed angry white men like in Idaho and Spokane, the ones that get into this Freeman on The Land sovereign citizen rubbish. The JET types are annoying, but they're hardly weird violent. I always found Canadian JETs by far the most annoying presumptuous fuckheads, and that's a programme whose hiring standards seems based on annoying presumption.

On JET the rest of us used to laugh at the Canadians because almost every conversation would somehow be steered towards how great Canada is, eh? The best is when they would corner a poor Japanese eigo parasite at a party and give them a lecture in Canadian history and how different Canada is from the Great Satan.

Lucky for me that ilk never like me much; they seem to envy Vancouver as much as they envy the states. Or hate it, or whatever. Or it's just that weird thing where people dislike their own while abroad. Plus I "could have gone on JET" but chose a Monbusho. Those sort of Canadians hate education unless it's their own. Or it makes you more doughnut money. I find it refreshing to hear how many different countries find Cdns abroad tiresome. It helps balance the teddy bear image and makes me look like a friggin' cosmopolitan.

BTW, Canada's Awesome, eh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, but how often are any of the K-nutters armed? Verbal effluent I can deal with; bullets not so much. Which isn't to say my Boycott Korea sentiment has in any way weakened. Have you ever been to Worst Korea? I thought it was an open sewer in 1987.

You really are a fucking pansy when it comes to travel.

Anyway, it's a lot nicer now than when I first went in 1999 so I'd imagine it's a completely different world from 1987. Of course infrastructure and hygiene have improved with increased wealth but the biggest change is in politeness. On a manner spectrum from Chinese to Japanese the Koreans have definitely moved towards the Japanese end compared to years ago. Especially in the bigger cities.

They also don't seem to be as openly racist. In '99 I went to a museum called Independence Hall of Korea. The reason I went is because I had heard from some friends and read in a guidebook what a load racist nationalistic propaganda it was and it didn't disappoint. I wish I had taken a lot more picture of some of the displays because they were hilarious but alas I only had a shitty disposable camera because I had forgotten mine at home so I didn't think it was worth it. It's divided into different displays (halls) and one of them was called "Japanese Aggression Hall." They had a sign over some weapons that said "Used By Japanese Military to Murder Koreans."

Even better was the hall about the origins of the Korean people. It talked about some ancient war with the Chinese and how the Koreans were able to fight them off and preserve their "racial integrity." Another thing I remember was an exhibit describing the Korean race's morphology that actually said, "broad forehead suggests large brain capacity." It then went on the describe how Mongolian morphology was different basically implying a smaller brain capacity.

On my last trip there in 2013 I ended up in the same town so I decided to go have a look at Independence Hall. I was really looking forward to seeing those exhibits again and getting some nice photos of the ridiculousness. Unfortunately it's totally changed and not that silly anymore. Just another boring war/independence memorial. Sure the Japanese still come off looking bad but they were fucking asshole there so fair enough. I really wish I had taken those photos in '99 for evidence. Maybe the stuff in Korean is still just as bad but the English and Japanese seemed to be pretty factual but of course biased towards the home team.

in kimcheland the top of intellectual mainstream are still occupied by novelists and poets(!  ).
its similar to some extent with the past japan from the early modernized period untill early 90's in which novelists and literary critics had been regarded as representative intellectuals and had ruled in the world of criticism at that time.
its the reason you cannot request positive approaching from kimchese.

coz....poet...poet.......POET

If you want modern flashy, there's Japan or even Singapore. If you want cool groovy beaches, there's Vietnam. Anyhoo, Great story about the Halls of Remembrance. Was there much attention given to the sacrifice of nice foreign farm boys that ensured the worsterer part of the peninsula was saved by a police action? I F'in hope so.

Japan modern and flashy? Troll harder. :keyboardcoffee:

Anyway, the reason I've been to Korea so many times is I have some good friends there and it's a close cheap flight but I always enjoy it. Even when I take little side trips by myself for a few days. One thing that's nice is the locals know how to have a good time. As much as I love Vietnam (I've spent the last three Christmas vacations there) the Vietnamese people are pretty boring overall. Same with the Chinese (overseas, Taiwanese, or mainland). They just don't know how to party.

As Japan and Korea have become more popular travel destinations for Americans I've had some friends and one family member who've done random vacations in both. All of them preferred Korea, and especially Seoul, to Japan. They were all younger guys though so I think the fact that it's actually easier to get laid in Korea than Japan these days might have something to do with it. Korean girls don't have to pretend to be virgins to land a husband anymore and have no problem throwing down with a one night stand.

Yeah, I have sure noticed the resurgence of the self-administered chastity belt in Japan the last few years. Don't Koreans speak English better as well (in general)? I can get why some prefer that vibe, I just don't.

You mean it's them not me. Glad to know getting older and fatter isn't the reason my numbers are down.

The results of my unscientific sample are that you aren't much more likely to find a random English speaker in a bar or restaurant in Korea than Japan but if you do find one the average proficiency is higher.

By the way, I'm not sure exactly what you mean by that but I would include the Japanese in the-people-who-know-how-to-party camp.
