Storage shed for sale

Postby waruta » Wed Jul 22, 2015 5:14 pm

I'm trying to help my mother-in-law move her house and since she is now single, she needs my help even though I'm located in SG now :)

Anyways, there is a great big Takubo, part of their "Mr. Stockman/Dandy" series shed downstairs in the garage that she wants someone to use. You will need to bring back tools like a wrench set or adjustable wrench and screwdriver, but its a great big honking aluminium/steel behemoth that someone could use for sure.

It is about 5 years old I think and sits in a sheltered concrete garage so there is no corrosion or anything wrong with it. It is located in Tsurumi.

This is the exact model (2212)

THat would fit on the back of a small truck - so, maybe no tools required..... if it will fit thru the garage door.

I take it for granted that you know how to load it on said truck.

Well, if it were my truck - yes, easy peasy... First select two boards as long as the shed to use as `runners`. Insert the runners from the sides. Then lift one end of the shed and block it up so that the boards will clear the truck bed height. Back the truck under the `runners` and keep going without turning the shed on end. It should be near to balance point. Then from the far end of the shed, lift and push. Use rollers (pipes) under the runners if the shed is heavy. I have loaded heavy items this way….

I saw the picture in that link - and if it is that shed, then with boards under it, the boards take the pressure, not the shed. I have moved larger sheds than that one this way. The picture showed a shed that would move this way.

Sheesh Salty, what's next?

Can I ask you to build a pyramid in my garden?

Thanks for fixing the link.

As for moving the shed in one piece; I would try Salty's method, but only with four guys as it would be a delicate balance between not torquing the entire structure and lifting it. Another thing is that the access to the house is a small one lane road.

Final call on the shed before it goes with the moving company/breakers.
