It's not the first time that it's happening...
And it's weird-ish... This FB account is borderline dormant, I access it every few month to check on kitties pictures.
Make me think aboot a bugged script somewhere on a snooping device...

I think it is just crappy specificity in the graphic. The location of Tokyo has been linked to the admin buildings, but it only indicates "ISP has its headquarters address which it used for registration somewhere in Tokyo." I especially like the Longitude data....

Damnit, I was not going to grace this thread with a response..... It is nothing any of us care about or can do anything about, especially if it is a repeat occurrence.

In fact just posted because that behaviour might indicate that there is a bug/login exploit in FB allowing to reset account passwords (the password on this account was a long random string, brute forceable only, no dictionnary approach could work, and for once not "yU4_41d4_f0r_3v3r")
And... The Tokyo/governement building might also indicate that some moronic civil servant got his PC trojaned and used as proxy by some chinese haxorz... With the number of site where you can "log-in with your facebook account" when that turd collapse it might be a fun day to watch...

Nope, not a phising scam. The green F is just standard Gmail screwing around.
My proctolog for these situation is basic physical isolation.
-receive email telling me aboot new login trough gmail read with web browser (ipad/home IP)
-attemp login with the facebook app ( iphone through KDDI network) -> authentication fail
-reset pwd with IMac/safari.
-check the FB account to list the previous login, the Tokyo IP reported in the mail was also listed at the claimed hour.

Not much place for hidden fishing url/scams this way...
I also don't click on link from Eeebai/PeyPaul asking to confirm my CC number or my account will be suspended and they will shoot my dog...

So he really did think that the location graphic had that level of accuracy. I was given three options: two in the municipal offices in Nishi Shinjuku, one in Tokyo Station! Please, people, do not be as naive as one of us has shown himself to be! At the very least, look at the graphic produced for your own connection data to get an idea for how useful (useless) it is.

Also, if G-mail make real things look dodgy like that, so that you can't distinguish real from dodgy any more, then I think he at last has a legitimate reason to hate Google. Not that legitimate reasons are necessary for him to hate.

I really hope that that G-mail address exposed in the graphic is a throwaway account.

As another point of reference, I have never been to Madrid, or Spain, and indeed I haven't been within 5000 Km of Spain since Wham! first released "Last Christmas." I don't use a proxy. Guess where Facebook thinks the account I use has been logging on from.

It sounds like nobody else has had a problem, so this is not a Facebook problem, it is a Coligny problem.
