FAO Kurogane

Postby Samurai_Jerk » Tue Aug 18, 2015 12:08 pm

I know you'll love this story. A bearded white San Francisco hipster in skinny jeans writes "Fuck You Gook" on a Chinese guy's garage door. I bet he voted for Obama and thinks #blacklivesmatter.

Yeeeks. 1956 called and it wants its hateful epithets back. Seriously............Gook???? The guy is clearly a Ch...

Great response by this Kan guy. Go Seattle.

BTW, WTF does this mean:
But Justin Kan sees the silver lining: “Last time I checked I’m still balling.”

Amongst techno-dorkies does "balling" have an above the waist sense? That's actually a rather crass response if not. Still, a very level and clever response by this young Kan. Let's hope he doesn't take after his namesake and go all Noonien Singh.

Ballin' is more "urban" than techie geek.

In the hipster's defense it could have resulted from bad Asian driving.

By the way, did you notice they got Kan's name wrong on news?

Thanks. I looked it up too. My admiration for him is slightly diminished, but I know lots of Vangroovers his age who speak English like its the same dialect of Klingon he speaks. I caught all of it, and loved his joking response about being the victim of a triple crime. To be fair, the force of the Tan clan is strong on this coast, and I've only met 2 Kans outside of Star Trek circles, but how fucking hard is it to fact check?

Thanks for that. That Tagger (oooh! Slang!!!!!!) really does look the profile for what you said. Hating East Asians is the only safe prejudice left it seems.

The reality is probably actually even more disturbing. That faggoty liberal hipster look is now so mainstream that even racist fuckwits dress like that. It's like when rednecks who used to beat up hippies for looking like girls and listening to rock n' roll all started growing long hair to look like their favorite metal band. I guess the silver lining is that it means skinny jeans and ironic beards will soon go the way of the cock rocker.

He did look more homeless or mental patient than post-ironic hipster with job, but yes. And thank god. Some of these My GF's Jeans looks are getting quite problematic from the perspective of an artfully ironical poststructural social aesthetic. I'm thinking of buying a very large framed soberly coloured girl's bike just to tip the balance and put the reactor into meltdown.

FAO Kurogane

Postby Wage Slave » Sun Nov 08, 2015 8:03 pm

Who is this guy? Must read more - I need the laughs.

Last night historian Andrew Roberts told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Those involved in this ludicrous case should recognise that the British Crown Jewels is precisely the right place for the Koh-i-Noor diamond to reside, in grateful recognition for over three centuries of British involvement in India, which led to the modernisation, development, protection, agrarian advance, linguistic unification and ultimately the democratisation of the sub-continent.’

As far as I am concerned the average citizen of the UK would benefit more if we gracefully and voluntarily returned the thing as a gesture of friendship and respect. As for my alleged heritage - Ha! Bollocks - It means nothing to me because I have no access or control.

Never been able to understand why diamonds are so fucking special anyway.

I had quite forgotten about him, wot wot. He's like Stephen Fry without the wit, grace, charm or humanity. Which leaves only pompous pretence. Said to be not a bad scholar when he can shelve his ideological determinationalisms, FTR. I think you get it, but his entire project is to prove that killing brown people was the best thing that ever happened to them, and you're welcome. Thank god for Churchill, Kitchener and Major General Dire, the Hero of Amritsar, and the butcher within all of us.

Perhaps because like hate, greed, butchery and the rationalisation of same, they are forever?

Keep practicing.

double dutch
Using both a condom and anticonception pills when making babies without making babies.

Or, the more traditional:

Double Dutch
Unique and secret language that can be spoken, written, and read. The trick to speaking it is to add "ib" before or after (depends on the word) each syllable. Rules differ depending on the medium of communication.

Or, the funny (but only so for Dutch):

Double Dutch (writing style)
Johan van der Meulen (11 January 1915, Breda - 13 September 2005, Breda), better known by his pseudonym John O'Mill (a jocular translation of his given name, as if O' stands for "of the"), was a Dutch author mostly known for his wordplay and limericks, and for using a macaronic combination of Dutch and English words and sentence structures he called "Double Dutch" (itself a pun on various meanings of this phrase). Double Dutch appears English, but it cannot be fully understood without knowledge of Dutch, because it is based on the literal translation of Dutch idioms into English and the similarity in sound of certain words and expressions. O'Mill, who was until 1975 a teacher of English at the public high school "Rijks-HBS" at Breda (Noord-Brabant), was inspired by the clumsy English used by his students.
A terrible infant called Peter,
sprinkled his bed with a geeter.
His father got woost,
took hold of a knoost
and gave him a pack on his meeter.

I have a couple of books of his dealing with the the Napoleonic Wars and Waterloo and they both well written and lacking the ideological baggage that many scholars seem to have on the subject. I haven't a clue what his views are like on other subjects

I think that is his actual specialty, military history. Perhaps he has become more of a shock jocking media whore lately. At any rate, he sounds like a twat on India. Refusing to apologise is one thing, but demanding appreciation for that level of cruelty and destruction is quite off, wot wot.

PS Thanks, Yanpa.

How about returning the damn stone? The more I think about it, the better an idea it seems to me. Just return it as a symbolic gesture to mark the end of all that. Why not? It's monetary value is irrelevant - it can't be sold - And think of the enduring payoff we would get from the good will.
