monthly 30 man yen is not bad for suburban women whose over 50% are part-time workers under very rough labor conditions.
and then finally they would live normal neat life.

Monthly ... maybe.

But I think this is a one-time "incentive," which is not much of an incentive at all.
In fact, it seems more like a joke (or an insult) than a sincere incentive.

That's what I thought too. And that being the case, there's no way a company is even going to take the time to read the details.

I suppose the company could pass on that windfall to a female employee if they really wanted to, but somehow ... nah.

I'm more shocked there was no fraud...seems like many programs like this end up getting abused. (not just in Japan)

Also, normal neat life is for make very nice. NEET life not so make because NEET is make for not neat. English make for strange when must make. Perhaps is to make pay attention to etymological particularisms.

Government/business attempts at getting women in the workplace are fucked.
Japanese women are too smart for equality. Who the fuck wants to hang around until the middle of the night waiting for the fucken boss to go home first before you can go home?
If they want equality, use women as the benchmark and make every cunt leave for home at 5 p.m. on the dot.
Japanese women have got the best deal of any women in the industrialized world and they aren't gonna give it up too easily.

Funny you should say that, SDH. I used to work with a Finnish guy and we were reviewing the resume of a Japanese women along with a female Japanese colleague. The candidate had a few years gap in her resume and the Finnish guy asked why. It was because the candidate had taken time off to raise her kid. He saw that as a ridiculous excuse that would never fly in Finland since they have such great programs to make sure women can work and be mothers. He said that because of that women who choose to stay home beyond maternity leave are seen as lazy. I don't know if his attitude was typical but it wouldn't surprise me if it was.

Turns out women on the board earns a company money in the old-fashioned way.

Companies perform better when they have at least one female executive on the board, a study of companies in the UK, US and India shows.

Publicly traded companies with male-only executive directors missed out on £430bn of investment returns last year, the accountancy firm Grant Thornton found in its report, Women in business: the value of diversity.

Well, his logic is both impeccable and laughably ethnocentric, but you did mention Scandinavia, so that sounds about right. Was he able to get his head out of his own bubble or did he insist his take on it was valid? Not knowing before being told is one thing, but insisting afterwards is quietly berserk. I fully get what he means, btw, but that doesn't mean it matters in Japan.

His initial reaction was that it was a shitty excuse. Once the Japanese lady working with us told him it was pretty normal in Japan and I said it wasn't unheard of in the US, he explained why he reacted that way.

I wouldn't say it's lazy for women to stay home with their kids but I would say that if they make that choice they shouldn't be surprised if it hurts their career/earning potential.

How old was she? I mean if she's not planning on having any more children, why would it be an issue from here on out? (...and lazy would mean getting fat and not going back to work after the kiddo is in school, using the never expiring excuse of "...but I had [ ] kid(s)!!")

Soogoi Kaitoku Jan!!!!!!!!!!!!! :biggrin2: I liked the decor but it seems the sort of place you go with a few friends. We went with just 2 and it was boring, plus it closes early. A very swanky place though, to be sure. And Famous, too!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyways, that extra 100 millilitres settles it: the penny ante mentality is far more damaging than the potential corruption.

Earlier I remembered the sorts of salaries friends and such in Asakusa were quoting to me as Great Pay!!! were I to take up some sort of Real Job work in Tokyo, and it was much less than my minimum get out of bed amount. Even allowing for the Asakusa demographics
Errrrppppppppppppppppppppppp :(

I saw the best one yet today. The gas station near my house was running a big campaign complete with colorful signs, a carnival tent, and a guy waving a checkered flag like he was at a race track to get people's attention. Buy 20 liters of gas and get a free box of tissues!!!! I'm surprised cars weren't lined up around the block.
