A British businessman who disappeared suddenly from Tokyo two months ago had taken £40,000 of his company's money and left the country, it was reported today.

Friends and colleagues feared popular Garin Dart, 41, had been killed or kidnapped by Japanese gangsters when he vanished on May 22, leaving his pregnant wife Yukako, 38, and their child.

this is another typical "charisma" case.
i do recommend you guys to just follow him as soon as possible. take it easy.

He probably wanted some dental work being done in the UK.

Wondering when he will be back in Japan...

Kurobuta-signs.jpg

A London restaurant run by a former Nobu head chef has been forced to turn off neon signs saying “prostitutes available” and “sluts” in Japanese after angering women’s rights campaigners.

But Australian chef-owner Scott Hallsworth told the Standard: “I think the protests have been unfair.

“We have no record of sexism as a company and the signage actually doesn’t mention women — prostitution is an ancient trade which involves men, women, everyone.

“This is simply a piece of art in a big, cosmopolitan city. I’m going to get an electrician to take the signs off the main circuit — will the Fawcett Society help me with the bill?”

Then in the video, he calls the leaves of hoonoki "ho leaves." He is hooker obsessed.

I wonder if they've had to turn away any confused Japan tourists who were expecting something other than over-priced fusion cuisine.

its probably usual persecution complex of 2channelers.
it seems like he has a twisted sentiment toward woman rather than toward japan.

im sure he got to be a real charisma among 2 channelers if the sign was "慰安婦あります(comfort women available)", not "売春婦あります(whores available)"

I was more concerned about the use of Arimasu there. Either he had it made or bought it in Pattaya. Still, rather crass even allowing for his ethnic origins. Whadda Bongerabingy Matey.

I think we might be witnessing the birth of the Pedant Collective. It was the location of the comma which distracted me the most. He would have got points from me if he had used 〼 for masu.

My guess is that the neons were commissioned in Hong Kong. Which makes them artisanal neons.

Except of course it would be straight out illegal.

Yes, the comma too. Good eye. I don't get this though: " 〼 "

I will stick with the use of Arimasu. It suggests inanimatenesses, which is quite, quite rude. Wot Wot

You need to go drinking in places without Budweiser, for example in the sort of places SJ goes to.

Sakee's for homos that can't drink properly ( ), but I get it, and I agree. That would have made it clever, and for an Assthatralian, downright sophisticated

Well this is ambiguous.

Are you saying that all that iOS displays for you is a box with a line through it? If so, that is correct: the character looks like a box with a line through it.

Have you not seen 豆腐あり〼 signs in places which pretend to be retro?

 I thought it was mojibake. I haven't seen, or at least haven't noticed that. Most the places I hang out at are actually retro though.

Just to keep the Collectivisation drive alive, can you pretend to be retro? I would argue that pretence is integral to the project itself.

I love retro places as long as they have proper seating. No floor seating, none of those baby chairs, thanks.

In case you're wondering what happened there ...

At least three Turkish nationals were injured and rushed to a hospital in the free-for-all, which occurred as hundreds of Turks assembled at the embassy to cast their ballots ahead of general elections on Nov. 1.

Turkish men who were present said some Kurds pulled out a flag representing an armed Kurdish separatist group, eliciting a heated reaction from a pro-government group.

As expected this is top news everywhere today, highlighting the dangers of allowing foreigners (particularly those terrifyingly swarthy middle eastern types) into this peace loving nation.

But tongue-in-cheekery aside, what a bunch of hot-headed twits. Bringing Turkish ethnic rivalry to the streets of Tokyo is just a wonderful way of convincing the J-gov't to ease immigration/refugee restrictions, not.

This time you are right. Utter dickhead - only got halfway through the the guy straight after the girl at the beginning. And that was plenty. The guy was doing his best and doing everything the situation demanded. Really bad taste and not funny in the slightest.

Anyone know what happened in that sort-of recent case where an Australian father was accused of killing his baby by shaking it too hard or something? I thought we had a thread on it here, but I can't find anything.

I've been wondering about this one. For a week or so it was all over the news, every day, with "experts" brought in to comment on how he must have shaken the child this way or that way, was unable to control his emotions, and on and on.

And then ... all of a sudden ... nothing.

I don't remember hearing if the guy was indicted, convicted, absolved, whatever. I might just have missed it.

Anyone know what happened?
