Shit. Where can I sign up to that pity party? They seem to run the gauntlet from dreary to earnest.

I have three questions:

1) Wagyl, how do you find websites like that?
2) How do these people communicate with the general public in a way that doesn't lead them to getting certified?
3) in the unfortunate event of actually meeting one of these hamsters, how would you avoid being patronizaing?

  1. It was a tangent from a Canadian Journalist
  2. They only communicate with People Who Really Understand™, and shut out all other discourse tight, so they never get to communicate with the general public*
  3. These hamsters broadcast their hamster status well in advance. You avoid being patronising by simply avoiding them.
* unless they can see an opportunity to preach and berate, of course

Alex-Quan Pham is a Vietnamese queer, gender non-conforming femme warrior. In past lives, they have been a turtle, a palm tree, and a river nymph. Their full-time job is resisting the colonialist, capitalist, white supremacist cisheteropatriarchy through writing, learning, loving, and healing.

I cannot find it in my heart to deny anyone a Laclau & Mouffe phase, though I would disdain anybody that doesn't get over it. Which was a huge part of their point in the first place. Getting over it, that is.

Is this Cisgender term totally made up lizard speak? I always tune out when I get a whiff of diatribe over dialogue at all costs and with all comers. It's a bit sad to be an A'hole and still be the best feminist in the room. Not to mention downright Aunty anti-contrarian. And that hurts.

The term 'cisheteropatriarchy' seems to originate at Cornell University.

Is a patriachy with transhetero origins OK? A cishetero matriarchy OK? A cishomopatriarchy? Am I confused, or are they?

Then again, the students at Cornell University seem to have a bit of trouble understanding the meaning of the word "oral." I am pretty sure oral sex is also a queer concept... Maybe they think oral sex means "literary porn."

If you have fifty-six hours to spare... starting with Cisheteropatriarchy is the Opiate of the Masses #1

And I am sure that she/they were a very special reptile/plant/imagery creature.

Queergender is the term that befuddles me. Is that what we used to refer to in the old days as sexually spastic?

As for cisteterotops, I think it was a early Jurassic dinosaur.

Manhattan man sues Metropolitan Museum for 'racist whitewashed’ Jesus paintings

A man is reportedly suing the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York for exhibiting paintings portraying Jesus Christ as a blond-haired white man.

Justin Renel Joseph, 33, filed a lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court alleging that four masterpieces exhibited in the museum are the product of “offensive aesthetic whitewashing” in their portrayals of Christ.

Mr Joseph, who is acting as his own lawyer, argues the “racist” paintings depicting an "Aryan" Jesus should be removed and that their inclusion at the attraction was an “extreme case of discrimination”.

He claims Christ had “black hair like wool and skin of bronze colour” and that, as a man with the same physical traits, he felt “rejected”.

The offending paintings causing him “personal stress” were ‘The Holy Family with Angels’ by Sebastiano Ricci; ‘The Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes’ by Tintoretto; ‘The Crucifixion’ by Francesco Granacci; and ‘The Resurrection’ by Perugino (below).

The museum defended its inclusion of the paintings, calling them “important, historically and artistically”.

Metropolitan Museum spokeswoman Elyse Topalian said: “When they were painted, it was typical for artists to depict subjects with the same identity as the local audience. This phenomenon occurs in many other cultures, as well.”

Court papers reportedly say: “The implication that someone who possesses physical features like the plaintiff could not be the important historical and public figure of Jesus Christ... caused the plaintiff to feel, among other things, rejected and unaccepted by society.”

If he thought he was rejected and unaccepted by society before, his litigious nature will not encourage society to change its mind.

By the way, the linked artwork is The Holy Family with Angels by Sebastiano Ricci.

I wonder aboot the timing and reason behind the publication of these discoveries on the appearance of a fictionnal character... After all it's like Batman's joker... The appearance is linked to the general feel of the movie... Heath Ledger would have been good there too...
But in our case, everybuddy know that the Nazarene is just a jew, so should look like this:

Pandas only want to fuck hot pandas

Worried about the low sex drive of giant pandas in zoos, scientists have tried many things to get them in the mood — not least Viagra and “panda porn.”

When all else failed, they have often had to rely on artificial insemination to ensure the endangered black and white creatures have cubs.

A study last week suggested the answer may be a lot simpler and, perhaps, more obvious — let the pandas choose their own mates.

“Giant pandas paired with preferred partners have significantly higher copulation and birthrates,” researchers noted in the journal Nature Communications.

Generally, pandas in captivity are presented with a mate chosen by scientists based on the animals’ “genetic profile.”

The goal is to minimize inbreeding and expand the DNA pool. But the result is often frustrating, with the animals having to be coaxed through human intervention to show even the slightest sexual interest in the mate thrust upon them.

A team from the United States and China ran a test at the China Conservation and Research Centre for the Giant Panda in Sichuan Province, to see if being allowed to choose their own partner might make a difference.

Male and female pandas were housed in enclosures with animals of the opposite sex on either side. They were allowed limited physical interaction with their neighbors through cage bars.

Scientists measured the animals’ “mate preference behavior,” which included different forms of playfulness and bond-forming, as well as sexual arousal. “Negative” interactions could include signs of aggression or a mere lack of interest.

The animals were then introduced to each other for mating — with preferred and non-preferred partners.

“The highest reproductive performance was seen when both males and females showed mutual preference,” the researchers found.

The authors said their study was the first to “rigorously examine” the effects of mate preference in giant pandas. “The future of conservation breeding will not take place in a test tube,” they wrote.

This shows, how far from the simple realities of life scientists sometimes are. Mainly when it comes to animal behaviour, they seem to be surprisingly ignorant.

Assuming we include hoomins in that animal category, yes to that. Observing a group of trained anthropologists outside their natural habitat can also be entertaining ("it's a bus ticket. You put it in the fare box", etc etc). To give them credit, they are self-correcting, as they showed here, even if they sound like 3 year olds having their first erection. The future of a species determined outside the test tube? Bikkuri Don Quixote!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like scientists because they make me feel downright normal. Allowing there are ones like Russell that can at least pass as normal (wrong thread!!?? )
