R.I.P.

He just released his 25th album, Blackstar, Jan. 8, which was his 69th birthday.

Yes, and might I add, a very dignified exit. I never even heard he was ill, for which I am grateful.

And so...............

As a bonus the comments are every bit as gayed up as those outfits. A fitting tribute me thinks.

I prefer this version, but there's no video

Holy shit, here we lost Michel Delpech and Michel Galabru in the first week of january.

2016 is going to be bad if the trend keep going on.
Triple sucker punch and it's barely the 11th of january...

One of my favourites, Bowie earned his status as an icon in my opinion.

His early incarnation as Syd-lite, which is one of my earliest musical memories.

He was fortunate to rise in a time where cultural misappropriation was not a buzzword.

AIA for an inappropriate threadjack, but I wasn't sure if this deserved its own thread and if you see patterns where none exist, like I do, you can see the obvious resonance: 2 people, the same age, dead from the same cause within days of each other. Which raises 2 questions: who is behind it, and who's next?

Alan Rickman dead
The actor's family has confirmed his death from cancer
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/peopl ... 12081.html

Anyways, RIP to a fine actor.

So, here's a list to pick The Third from:
http://www.star-daze.com/age/69/page1.html

It would be really weird if it turned out to be Duane Allman, Carl Wilson or Robert Urich.

Oh Yeah!!??? Oh Yeah!!!????? Maple me this: Rene was 73. Rickman and Bowie were 69. 7+3= 10, but 6-9= -3. It's about Patterns, Mike. Patterns.

Lemmy had just turned 70, was English, and was more famous, so he's a better fit.

All wrong Kuro.

You should've added before subtracting: 6+9 = 15.

And 1-5 = -4.

And 7-3= 4.

So, the magic number is actually 4, not 3.

And to make it more complete, you know what the number 4 means in Japanese?

if that creepy gay guy aka david bowie did not succeed as an entertainer, he would have come to japan to become a "charisma" man.
he looks like this forever naive guy.

Okay, if Bowie hadn't done anything after about 1973, I could get Take argument. BTW, why is Japan the only country in the world that still buys into Glam Rock?

If I remember my Highlander, There Can Be ONLY ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW, more sad news for Bowie fans.
David Bowie Cancels Plans to Return to the Stage Permanently

http://www.inquisitr.com/2491408/david- ... rmanently/

Sad news for fans of his live shows but it's not hard to understand why he might choose to pass on a permanent stage gig given his age and condition. But we still have the movies, and the videos, and the vinyl.

I always liked this one. Straight ole Rock n Roll

Because they like rock, and dressing up

Unlike people in Botswana, who like metal, and dressing up

So who bought Blackstar?

I finally gave it a listen through yesterday, admittedly while doing other stuff, and I think I'm going to like it. It is somewhat predictably a bit "dark."
