Hijab by Uniqlo

Here's Why Uniqlo Is Poised To Nail The Muslim Fashion Market

unijab.jpeg

Japanese basics magnate Uniqlo is releasing a line of "modest fashion," including hijabs, in American stores later this month.

The line is a collaboration with Japanese-British-Muslim designer Hana Tajima, who successfully launched a similar line of modest Uniqlo garments in Southeast Asia last year.

Uniqlo x Hana Tajima will officially launch on Feb. 26, and is affordably priced from $10 to $60. It includes traditional Islamic garments like the hijab, kebaya, and jubbah, but also loose-fitting Western items like skirts and long-sleeve tops.

Tajima told The Huffington Post she wanted to provide a variety of garments because "modesty varies from person to person -- it's not just about hijabs, it’s about finding looser silhouettes, more coverage, longer hems and sleeves."

Hilarious. I thought I saw something called Modest Wear on their website the other day: I thought it meant it's even cheaper than the normal crap. A shame to pander to heathen concerns, but hey, a yen's a yen, and as long as they're not wearing the mobile pup tent some of the heathen chicks look kind of cute in the head towel. I predict a mild boom amongst the 30-ish Ikazoo crowd. The ones that like the 25 year old Turkish kebab shoppe boys.

I don't think they're marketing this in Japan.

I think I saw it in my initial Google, but I betcha it will available by lottery or some other goofy demand creating Exclusive Limited marketing scheme: those Ikazoo chicks are really drooling over the kebab shop boys lately. Which would be cool if they didn't talk about them like pets or accessories. I'd marry a hardworking guy that knows how to cook kebabs if I liked hairy ass and penis.

Besides, given how cute Japanese women look in Eskimo parka outfits I betcha a nice Malaysian type god scarewear would look kind of fetching.
