unplug your router for a few minutes then plug it back in. Japan doesn't have solid ip addresses for home users, resetting the router and logging back in will give you a new ip and will probably speed things back up. If that doesn't work you probably hit your monthly data cap and need a new provider.

I pay for a static IP and have no monthly caps, for slowdowns that are now hapening for longer than a billing period.
And only affect youtube... Any source of bittorrent go down faster than a cheezeburger without the pickles...

Best bet would be It's a peering issue... Ookla speedtest gives me a 85u/80d Mbps plenty enough for youtube shitty videos... Just super annoying, plus their tech support always start with "directly plug a windows xp/7 computer / reinstall net card driver, unplug the washing masheen and flush the loo" which is cute... But useless...

Here, YouTube is slow, too at times (also static IP and no caps). Usual remedy of router reboot didn't help. Thought the culprit could be my "YouTube Flash Video Player" add-on (still prettier than HTML5 methinx), but if you have the same problem, then it's likely Google's fault. Data pony express to Aichi

Hopeless here too, ever since I switched to the super duper hayabusa that 400 Mbps up and down at 7.30 a.m but lucky to be 4 when I want to actually use the cunting thing at 7.30pm.
