3-quarters of wooden houses in Japan not quake-resistant

I wish I made up the name of the organization that did this study because that is positively beautiful...but I didn't.

Nearly three out of four wooden houses in Japan are unlikely to withstand a major earthquake, a survey by a government-authorized association showed Friday. The survey, conducted by the Japan Wooden Housing Earthquake Resistance Enhancement Construction Contractors Association, looked at 74,327 wooden houses nationwide in the six-year period since 1998.
