LET'S BOX MAN*!

*"Box Man" (箱男 -- Hako otoko) by Kobo Abe
amazon.com/Box-Man-Novel-Kobo-Abe/dp/0375726519
Abe's classic novel describes a salaryman who walks away from his stultifying life to live in a large cardboard box he wears over his head...

WTF Kumamoto! Get your shit together! I just watched a report about the huge amount of food that has been thrown away because they didn't know where or how to deliver it. That is inexcusable in this day and age. Somebody must be held accountable for this. Yesterday, saw a different report about how Amazon was delivering and people could donate through Amazin. So if they can, what the he'll is wrong with the government and the self defense forces. This is a real shame!

Amazon use kuroneko yamato who seems to have a deliver or die policy. But matched with the gear to do the job.

The JGSDF seems to be a summer activity club for milsim fags who don't do nightime rescue and appears not to even have spare tents or army cots to deploy in disaster area to protect refugees from the weather.

At this point nothing surprise me anymore. Soon the firemen will only be allowed to rescue cat stuck in trees and only if a proper vaccination paperwork can be provided...

Was it foreign? It's almost SOP for the J-gov to turn away that shit and claim they aren't in need while they are clueless about what the victims actually need.

Based on some of the homes near my office, she's not wrong....besides, homeless chiq is the never-ending trend in Harajuku. Wait til UNIQLO and MUJI start offering their own versions.

Are you all still alive?

My app "Yurekuru call" said "Protect your head" and reported a shindo 7 in Tokyo bay. Nowhere else do I see that? And for sure as hell there was no shindo 6 in Nagoya. Were they hacked?

Some people are reporting this on Facebook too, but nobody seems to have felt a thing.

Looks like a royal fuggup, hack, or hoax.

Yeah, I got the same warning and my wife was desperately trying to contact our kids, and the longer they didn't answer her, her stress level increased. Luckily it was a glitch I guess.

Did this only effect the [ゆれくるコール] 2nd party iOS/Android app, or was the disaster warning system built-in to the three main telcos also affected?
(I'm in Kyushu so I wasn't affected either way.)
In the apology notes from the ゆれくるコール folks, they covered their butts and said they were using data provided by the Japan Meteorological Agency, so it wasn't their fault.

AFAIK it affected smartphone applications subscribed to the JMA feed, also some trains stopped. I was in a public place at that time and didn't hear any keitai alerts go off.

The Japan-Times has a more plausible reasoning about what caused the glitch:

possible causes, which included a lightning bolt, Godzilla and “Pokemon Go” congestion

This makes lots more sense, IMO.

In totally unrelated news, My Yurekuru Call app just got updated with a new version

Bit of a relatively uncommon afternoon shake down here. A four near the epicenter, and a three in the hood.

Just watching that. That makes three quakes up and down the islands today, Hokkaido being the first.
