Location:
Established in Amagasaki and 10 minutes from Umeda, Osaka on a Hankyu line. The school is located 30 seconds from the station and next to the local elementary school.

Includes:
The school features a recently renovated reception area, classroom and an office area as well as a separate kitchen and bathroom, curriculum, furniture, teaching books, flyers and outdoor illuminated sign. Training available if needed.

Current opening hours:
There are currently 35 students and the school is only open 4 evenings a week because of owner’s current availability/schedule. Significant growth is possible if the new owner is able to open additional hours and take advantage of the proximity to the elementary school.

Wednesday: 6 – 9pm

Yes, noticed that. Not a promising trend. With those limited opening hours, though, there probably is some potential, especially if you're willing to be overworked and underpaid just to keep the delusion/dream alive. I got that out of my system in my 20s, but the dream of ownership is probably big or bigger than it ever was, esp. if Eikaiwa is your only option.
Is Eikaiwa even a going thing anymore as an industry? From what I have seen in Kyoto it's dying the death of a thousand cuts. Then again, most of us here are so out of the loop some of us probably think NOVA is still open for business.

Yes, but that would rather be the task of the new owner. The seller, unless hes motives are purely altruistic, might be more interested in the potential new owner's solvency? If I would sell a car, I'd be more interested to know if the buyer has the cash than if he is a safe driver, so I wouldn't ask the potential buyer for a cv

Fair point. I was wondering if this year's income hasn't fallen even faster than the previous year's, and the seller is trying to persuade the remaining customers to stay put so he has a business left to sell.

Or it might be because it is a franchise. Perhaps the parent organisation has the right of veto over buyers they consider to be unsuitable. Personally I wouldn't touch a franchise - it negates the whole point of working for yourself. And they charge like bastards. ECC were pestering the wife at one point - from memory they wanted something like 40% of the gross plus 100% of the sales of their compulsory overpriced books and other learning materials. Had to tell them to fuck off repeatedly.
