I like the accuracy in the seat upholstery and heating vent. If it is possible to be sentimental about Seibu, I think I am.

Then again, I remember back when they had a fantastic deal on bulk yellow paint.

If a guy has an 1級 handicapped ID it is legal (and recommended) to enter the women's-only car of the trains, neener-neener. 8-)

Given the rigamarole of getting into some stations they should have a relaxation spa ready in MYHOMO.

Maybe. But the train companies also have a right to exclude people from their property like anyone else. So go ahead, do it. You won't get arrested but you will be asked to leave and you won't be welcome back. Result!

The thing that surprises me is you aren't trying to argue that the molesters and creeps are all Korean and Chinese rather than Japanese men blessed with unique control of their animal instincts.

Well put. I almost quibbled when Taro posted above but thought better of it. Or perhaps it was a premonition. The complaints that such arrangements are discriminatory also make a fine litmus test of masculinity: if you think they are you need some.

you are not allowed to request anything you want to someone beyond legality even inside private properties, needless to say. all the more in high degree of publicness places like railway vehicle. actually women-only carriage is plainly unconstitutional.
paragraph 1, article 14 of japanese constitution
すべて国民は、法の下に平等であって、人種、信条、性別、社会的身分又は門地により、政治的、経済的又は社会的関係において、差別されない。

so why the heck is there no dudes-only carriage? its simply sexism.
the point is whether or not its effective as deterrent force toward groping.
so its not necessarily to be women-only ones. ppl-need-help-only carriage is enough for the purpose.

Why not just increase the number of trains so commuters can all sit down and nobody has to be worried about getting groped? Or change work times to alleviate train congestion?

you think the perpetrators are always men? eh? there are also specific women called 痴女(chijo) groping, touching, pressing their body against or unnaturally snuggling into mens body on the train. actually when i was a high school boy who was a pale-skinned innocent pretty cutey skinny boy at that time, i sometimes had became the victim of chijo. in most cases they were around 30 year old OL women.

and it seems like some old-style "masculine"-pretending gaijin dudes are not interested in the consistency of the whole society.
unfairness is the main reason to cause distortion. in this case hatred between men and women.

As far as I am aware there is no law to prosecute racism in Japan. Just because MacArthur Shogun put it in the constitution that doesn't make it enforceable.

Considering that J-courts don't use the official English version but instead use J-translated version du jour I'm not sure that constitutional law is really enforceable here.
