NEC press releaseTOKYO, January 13th, 2004, NEC Plasma Display Corporation today announced the launch of two 61-inch wide plasma monitors from the PlasmaSync(TM)61XM2+series (a grey bezel model, and a silver bezel model) that are equipped with "Enhanced Split Screen" ability - a high quality, high performance Double Picture function. Sales will commence on February 1st, 2004 to meet various uses mainly in multimedia presentation

Ah, but the devil is in the details. Check out the specifications:

Resolution - 1365(H) x 768(V)pixels

A 61" screen and that's all it can do? Cripes, my 12" iBook can do 1024x768. I'd expect a much higher resolution with a monitor that size.

That's why you want LG Electronics 76" bad boy at 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Of course, it won't be ready until Winter, 2004.
