So it turns out that some vloggers or net commentators or whatever (name of the lady is Kat I think, forget the bloke's name) have done reasonable people a favour and drawn attention to the little fascist owner, believe his name is Motoya, having written a book stating that the Rape of Nanjing/Nanking was fiction and PLACED THE BOOK IN HIS APA HOTELS AS RECOMMENDED READING.

Fuck that. Tell your Chinese friends, acquaintances and Chinese tourists you meet not to give that slimey fascist any of their money. What an insult. It's like if Aussie hotels had recommended reading in the form of a book in the hotels stating that nope, it aint true that the original Indigenous people of Oz were pushed off their land and had their culture destroyed as well as many of their people by the arrival of whites.

I wonder if German hotels can have Holocaust denial books for their guests. Or if American hotels can have books saying that slavery really wasn't bad for the black people transported as slaves to the New World or even saying that blacks actually volunteered to be on the plantations.

Nanjing/Nanking is controversial but it's mostly a controversy concocted by Japanese war crime deniers who happen to be flourishing these days under the newly acceptable Japanese World War 2 flag promoted by fascist-yakuza hearted Abe - don't hold your breath waiting for a photo of Angela Merkel addressing the German Army while a Nazi flag flutters nearby.

Primary sources NOT from Iris Chang show plenty of evidence of Japanese war crimes against civilians even if there are some confusing sources, a few of which are plain wrong. For those who buy into the new Japanese fascist propaganda, a read of "The Good German of Nanking/Nanjing' written back in the 90s or early 2,000s puts it into perspective and yes, many war crimes were committed by the Japanese military and Japanese civilian helpers in Nanjing/Nanking.

most of non-jpanese ppl never have verified what j-side has insisted about this incident. they just loosely follow the safe side just by hearsay and vague impression. if you actually strictly verify what j-side has insisted, you will have to notice how much china side exaggerated and made up and change your opinion about this issue just like you have already changed your opinion about comfort women issue.

Yeah, alright, I get your points. Actually I haven't changed my opinion about the comfort women issue - I just have given it the perspective of how Korean collaborators in this and other Japanese colonial matters were not always coerced into recruiting or forcing Korean families and their females to supply sexual services to the military or to do other things for and with the Japanese ruling regime and its bureaucracy.

I also know other nations did similar actions (although not to the same level of coercion and scale as the Japanese military-run brothels in Korea and other parts of Asia). For example, the USA's establishment of brothels in Tokyo and other parts of Japan after World War 2, taking advantage of a defeated, exhausted and largely poor population and enlisting the help of the native gangsters to do so, was shameful and needs more attention in the west.

Just like the war crimes of dropping atomic bombs in Nagasaki and Hiroshima - it did bring WW2 to a quicker end despite some studies claiming that Japan would have done this just fine as it was already negotiating with the Soviet Union. Let's face it - Japan's military regime wanted everything on its own terms and was delusional in thinking it could get its own way there. However, that doesn't dilute the fact that the atomic bombs certainly fit into the definition of war crimes.

Ethically numbers are irrelevant, doing a bad thing once is bad, doing it a thousand times is not a thousand times worse, it is the same bad, just repeated multiple times.
