It's all justified, because we are remnants of Nazis and fascists.

The Turks insisted to send a minister to the Netherlands to campaign for Erdogan's dictatorship. The Dutch insisted he was not welcome, and would not give him the ministerial treatment. When the guy got on the plane anyway, the Dutch government refused it landing rights, so the guy ended up in France to hold a political meeting there.

It is three days before the national elections in the Netherlands, so the Dutch government did not have much choice, fearing increasing support for Wilders.

In the mean time it is a serious breach of protocol by the Dutch, because this minister has diplomatic immunity, but most people in the Netherlands think it rather funny.

Now the Turks are threatening "severe sanctions". I guess they have all but given up on EU membership anyway...

How severe can those sanctions be? I didn't think that there was that much market for Gouda and clogs in Turkey, and tulips are native to Turkey, introduced to the Netherlands anyway.

Or are they threatening to shut off supply of hashish for those Amsterdam coffee shops?

It gets better. After the first minister was refused, another one who happened to be in Dusseldorf came by motorcade. Apparently the consul denied she was coming (lied), and all the AKP, pro-erdo and grey wolves forces of darkness were drummed up to crowd the consulate in violation of the mayor's orders to keep clear of the building. The motorcade was stopped at the edge of the city but pressed on to the colsulate, and there was a standoff between police and diplomatic personnel that lasted several hours until consulate security was placed under arrest by heavily armed special forces and police started to tow the heavily armed mercedes (with the minister still in it!) back to germany. She and her detail were placed in other cars and escorted back to the german border. And there was some rioting.

tl,dr: Turkey decides they can do whatever they want on foreign soil as if Holland is some sort of Turkish province , we said nuh-uh and forcefully expelled two turkish ministers (the second one kicking and screaming). Turkish angry, we don't give a shit.

To quote Harvey Keitel: we are still the police in our own damn country.

Erdogan calls on international organisations to impose sanctions on the Netherlands

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday called on international organisations to impose sanctions on the Netherlands, as a diplomatic row over Ankara's political campaigning among Turkish immigrants in Europe continues to simmer.

Speaking at an event in Kocaeli province, near Istanbul, Erdogan said the Netherlands was acting like a "banana republic", and criticised European countries for failing to voice criticism for the Netherlands' treatment of Turkish ministers.

More

Well, good luck with that. The Netherlands has wide support from international organizations due to its good track record as a team player.

Is it just me or do the two countries which span Europe and Asia just not care whether their actions interfere with the democratic process in other countries?

It also seems to me that whichever way Turkey's actions go, Geert Wilders can spin it to his own advantage.
If only Dutch colonialism had continued, and his family had remained in the East Indies. His policies would have had a workout there.
Could this be a chip on his shoulder? I know that two incidences do not make a trend, but I know of another neo-Nazi, also a member of the East Indies Eurasian diaspora, who engaged in action, from a nice line in goosestepping all the way up to molotov cocktails.

Turkey is being ridiculous and they look even more ridiculous when they think any other country is going to support them. Just before a general election and they want to have cabinet ministers flying in to hold political rallies? And then riot in Holland when they are prevented from doing it? As if Erdogan would ever allow the Syrians in Turkey to do something similar. And if they rioted, there would be a lot of cracked skulls and deportations for certain.

Completely stupid.
It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

More calls for protests yesterday and some people on the streets in The Hague and Amsterdam, but realistically speaking it was fucking nothing. I didn't see any footage or images with more than 50-100 people in them at any given time, and that's being very generous. If I was Erdogan I would be bitterly disappointed by how little turnout my tirades and calls for public disorder generated among what I believe to be nearly half a million of "my people".

All in all, last weekend was good practice for the Rotterdam riot police for the impending Feyenoord championship :D

Worrying about the Russian-Turkish cozzyness.
Putin has been extremly nice over the shoot down event and he seems to be reaching for any friendship weakening NATO. I'll spare you the full list of courtship toward France. And Hollande (the idiot, not the country) asshatery in the answers. But feels like divide and conquer. And if France was to positively answer that would be a nice shitfest...

French presidential elections are next month or so... even if he's not official candidate, if Sarkozy was to come back that would become weird.., badly weird ( Sarkozy being a Putinist and not hating on Assad either)

False Flag: Turks try to burn Dutch flag, burn French flag instead

Time for the French to change their flag into a white one to avoid confusion!
