Well, I hope their commanders have the common sense to tell them to ignore that fighting guide, or there's going to be a lot of them that don't come home. Maybe the US troops will wear off on them... hehe

As every kidnapper knows, Japanese make the best victims.

Gangsters operate own prisons as kidnapping soars in IraqIndependent, UK - 14 Jan 2004
Kidnapping is now the crime of choice among gangsters in Baghdad.
Colonel Feisal Ali, a veteran Baghdad policeman, said: "Criminals who used to steal gold and jewellery now specialise in kidnapping because it is easier and more profitable. Some actually maintain their own private prisons."

They really need India's Origami-Napkin-Hats Regiment, to ensure the bad guys are laughing too hard to shoot straight.

Sikh army turbans vary depending on the need. I wouldn't dare joke to them face-to-face about it.

If the SDF isn't meant to be deployed overseas then why would they even have a desert uniform?

'Sikh' is pronounced in the same way as saying 'Seek'.

Yes, I think the Sikh's reputation for courage under fire only comes in second to the Turks.

Yeah right, that's what you New Zealanders want to believe! :D Believe it or not, many Australian's have very cultured accents that don't even sound 'Australian' (Smugly thinks: 'Especially where I live, ho ho ho')......

That accent you are thinking of is shrinking in the geographical area that it is used in Australia, so that now it mainly exists in some rural areas, and rarely is on TV. Speaking of accents, I was in Christchurch this time last year, and after about three days exposure to the local accent, started to pronounce words with the South Island: 'Chups', not chips, :eek2: etc OMG, call an exorcist! But I thought it was OK after a while.

Japanese media chase GSDF like paparazzi: report
Kyodo
Friday January 23, 1:20 AM

Japanese reporters are hounding the members of the Ground-Self-Defense Force (GSDF) conducting a survey mission in southern Iraq like paparazzi chasing celebrities, a Kuwaiti daily reported Thursday....so many Japanese reporters are following the team to its every destination in what it described as a "car chase," like "paparazzi" following movie stars. It said some of the cars collided among themselves on Wednesday.

...

In addition, a Kuwaiti military official told Kyodo News on Thursday that one of the media cars almost ran over a child in Iraq shortly after the GSDF team arrived from Kuwait.

It'll all end in tears if they're not careful.

Image

Next some Japanese Game show will be offering J-kiddies a ride-along prize where they can accompany the GSDF for a day or so.

They're back ... and they've gone for the Roman Centurian look this year, in the Origami-Napkin-Hats Regiment:
