That's pretty disgusting but if you want the Koreans exposed for the assholes they are, you kill their sympathy fishing position with kindness and understanding to the victims. There aren't many left and they won't live forever. In the court of public opinion, focusing on disputing their claims, even if they're exaggerated or false, just makes the Japanese look like heartless assholes. (and don't even try to complain that Japanese know nothing of image>reality in PR)

recently a new story about korean railway and other transportation history started to be seen here and there.
In 1896, a concession was granted to American businessmen, Henry Collbran and Harry R. Bostwick, to construct the Seoul-Chemulpo (Jemulpo) Railroad (SCRR). Its opening was on March 22, 1897. On September 18, 1899, the SCRR was officially opened for traffic from Jemulpo to the south bank of the Han River near Yeongdeungpo.

Transportation in South Korea refers to all modes of transportation that have been developed in South Korea from before the Japanese colonization of Korea in 1905 until the present day. That comprises railroads including the bullet train and defunct street cars, subways, automobile and highways, ships including ferries, and airlines both domestic and international.

South Korea's railroad network links the entire country. The first railroad linking Seoul and Inch'on opened September 1899. The Japanese constructed other major lines during the colonial period, including Mokpo, Masan, and Busan lines.

in this treaty japan got the railway concession of korean peninsula and 京都電気鉄道(japanese company of course) built the Seoul-Chemulpo (Jemulpo) Railroad in 1899.

And have you managed to find any trace of that fake George Kennan quote yet? If not, it's obvious he never said it.
It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

japanese historians are first-class in collecting materials while have a bit problem in reasoning.
someone have an archive of the Nov.11.1905 version of weekly magazine The Outlook?

and i feel very sorry for the south east and south asian people enslaved by the imperial japan in burma. it was undoubtedly a shame and an evil deed committed by japan.
on the other hand, it was a kinda good medicine for those white pows. and actually comparing to the post-war captivity of j-pows in siberia, that burma railway slavery is just like billys boot camp in the true meaning. no sorry for those evil white dudes. im sorry for the no sorry. thank you

George Kennan was born in 1904 you fool. Japanese historians of a certain ilk are first-class at fabricating materials.

But he has no particular knowledge of Korea or Japan. His life was spent exploring Russia.

And if this article ever existed and has been found by Japanese scholars, I want to see the rest of the article. If it's been discovered then slapping it on a scanner shouldn't be any problem at all and in some cases context is all.

Right, we are finally getting somewhere. Found it for you.

http://www.unz.org/Pub/Outlook-1905nov11-00609

I still don't understand why you think he is a reliable source but anyway. The passage you and your historian colleagues are quoting is on page 613. However, you are cutting him off in mid sentence and what you cite is followed by a pretty big but if your intention is to show Japan in a good light historically.

The Koreans are mostly exaggerators
or barefaced liars, by heredity and by
training, and it is therefore impossible
to accept, without careful verification,
the statements which they make with
regard to Japanese misbehavior; but I
am satisfied, from cases that I have,
investigated, and from the testimony of
the Japanese themselves, that the natives
have good ground for complaint'.

So that's why you have been so shy about exactly who said it, where and when.

Oh and by the way, if you read the whole article it is written by a man who is wildly racist towards both Japanese and Korean people and although he doesn't like either he details a litany of Japanese incompetence, corruption, cruelty and theft. In other words: Koreans, very bad, Japanese even worse. But, he's clearly a racist Victorian adventurer with an eye to publicity rather than any kind of scholar so I don't give anything he says a lot of weight.

That sounds like the perfect source for Takechan.

Makes me wonder what is next? Takechan taking quotes from Mein Kampf?

Oh, he details plenty of lying and fabricating by the occupying Japanese as well. And fraud. And theft. And from Government level to Japanese coolies and kulaks. If you want us to accept him as a source you have to accept all that as well. Basically in every way the Koreans are very bad but the Japanese are even worse - according to him.

The final report, released earlier this week by Universal Entertainments special investigation committee, found the gaming mogul to be guilty of three separate illicit actions between 2013 and 2015. The first of these pertains to Okada’s alleged misuse of a Universal Entertainment subsidiary named Universal Entertainment Korea Co Ltd to create a property interest in a US$80-million land financing in a deal involving Okada’s wholly owned company Okada Holdings Ltd and an as yet unnamed financial institution.

In 2003, a 60-year-old former gambling executive and chemist here used ricin to commit suicide. The man, Tomoo Okada, told emergency responders that he had injected himself at his home with the poison, which prompted two hospital emergency rooms that saw him to be closed for about three hours.

Incident puts emergency responders to test
https://lasvegassun.com/news/2003/mar/0 ... s-to-test/
http://archive.is/XNApc

The improved communication between emergency responders developed after the terrorist attacks of 2001 was put to the test by 60-year-old Tomoo Okada's suicide, authorities said. Okada apparently manufactured a small amount of ricin and injected himself with the poison at his Spring Valley home late Friday. He died just before noon Saturday.

The apparent use of the deadly biological poison forced the Clark County's Emergency Operations Center into action and from all indications the incident was handled quickly and efficiently, Daron Borst said.

The incident triggered a full emergency response by police, health officials, the FBI and fire and paramedic teams.

Okada, a native of Japan and a former slot machine maker, told paramedics on the way to Valley Hospital that he had injected himself with ricin, Conger said.

Okada "apparently used a very sophisticated way to commit suicide," Conger said.

Although ricin is not contagious, it can be dangerous.

"We really didn't know what we had at first," Conger said. "We determined very early it wasn't a terrorist attack. That is very important to this community."

When the ambulance arrived at Valley Hospital, emergency room staff members had prepared an area that could contain a toxic substance, Conger said, as it was not known whether the chemical could spread in the air or by contact.

While the man was being treated at Valley, paramedics and Metro Police officers who had responded to the call were sent to University Medical Center, where they were checked for contagious or poisonous substances, Conger said.

Both hospitals closed their emergency rooms for three hours, from roughly 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. on Saturday, while the treatment rooms were detoxified.

Hazardous materials crews combed the man's home and found a container about the size of a nail polish bottle suspected of containing ricin.

Because the man's body had to be handled with care until laboratories were able to identify the substance, an autopsy has not been scheduled, he said.

Masahiro Miki is the founder of ABC Mart, a shoe retailer. Not many people know that Miki is Korean-Japanese with a Korean name of Kang Jeong-ho, as he seldom shows himself in public.

Miki, who had been interested in import clothing retail, switched to selling shoes when he realized that the Japanese shoe industry was not particularly competitive. ABC Mart found success and also spread to South Korea and Taiwan, and Forbes listed him as Japan’s 11th richest this year.

Lately, it seems that nearly every ”successful J-dude” that comes up in convo with the locals is one J-pride crushing English google way from being pointed out as Korean-Japanese. Maybe the Japanese should stop looking to the nazis and "self reflect" on the zainichi successes to emulate...

in post-war era z-koreans didnt get recruited by j-companies even if they got university education because of the racism and they had no choice to start their own business, enter show-biz world or become yakuza.
as an ironical result of it, most of the billionaires of the highest rank in present japan are them....

Karuizawa is much more "Tokyo in vacation mode" than "rural Nagano prefecture." Believe me on that one.

Just goes to show that ultimately racism is utterly self defeating eh? Imagine how much benefit companies like Sharp and Nissan would have got from them. But no, because of racism and nepotism they turned their back and now they are owned by the Taiwanese and French. Notice how really good, large companies always have very strict equal opportunities policies - They know only too well that racism and nepotism cost a lot of money. Racists and Nationalists always want to write cheques that the rest of us have to pay for.
It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
