Ugh, I come into the office today at lunch and the other folks are all slurping ramen....I take back what I said about being able to tolerate it before. I guess background noise does help....but in an otherwise silent office, while you're trying to concentrate, all that slurping sounds terrible.

as long as i know, there is an tendency that non-japanese relatively dont mind the chewing sound while they plausibly do mind the slurping sound. making a sound when chewing with your mouth open is regarded as rude and disgusting among the majority of japanese.
its so-called クチャラー. the most terrible kucharaa who i know is korean and chinese, by the way. and at least westerners are more terrible than japanese regarding the chewing sound.

Ehhhh, chewing with one's mouth closed is one the most basic rules of western table manners. Some Koreans/Chinese try to say it's some sort of cultural thing and other BS like you often spout about slurping, claiming it enhances the flavor or is some sort of appreciation of the food. (Sorry, it's just shitty parenting/manners) Others get all nationalistic and butthurt about it (like you) and claim they don't do it. Yes, many Chinese and Koreans are terrible when it comes to this shit but I know waaaay too many Japanese that chew with their mouth open and have been annoyed by it at restaurants enough times that I find it hard to believe it's "regarded as rude and disgusting among the majority of japanese."

If you use those tank drop ins and have plenty of extra water on hand to run through the tanks (and then sewer hose) after the nasty stuff, it isn't quite as bad. Mine came with the shitter tank pre-filled...that was not fun.

Articulated vehicles are not easy, it's counter intuitive. I once had a job driving tractors with long trailers on the back, takes a while to get used to it.

I found it quite intuitive as far as direction is concerned - Actually doing it accurately with a long trailer is another matter though.

I found trailers with very short drawbars trickier to manoeuvre than long ones. But what I was pottering about with was nothing like an 18 wheeler, so my full respect for them ladies
