OSAKA (R) – Following the apprehension of a 26-year-old American male in connection with the disappearance of a woman, Hyogo Prefectural Police have found the head of a woman likely belonging to her in a residence in Nishinari Ward, reports Nippon News Network (Feb. 24).

At around 3:50 p.m., officers found the head inside a suitcase in the residence, which at some point was rented on a short-term basis by Yevgeniy Vasilievich Bayraktar. The American is already in custody for allegedly confining the missing woman, a 27-year-old resident of Sanda City, Hyogo Prefecture, in a different apartment in Higashinari Ward.

News articles state the victim first was reported missing by her co-workers and parents ...
Her phone was last traced to the first AIrBnB rented by the suspect (it went dead ); she had also reportedly indicated she was going to meet someone named “Jay” to a co-worker or friend via a dating app (Tinder, I think ).
The security cameras at the first AIrBnB ( a converted cram school ) caught the two entering but only the guy exiting with a large bag ( probably her body).
Apparently the suspect rented several AIrBnB locations, not just two ...

OSAKA (TR) – Following the discovery of a human head likely belonging to a missing woman in a residence once occupied by an American male over the weekend, Hyogo Prefectural Police revealed on Monday that other body parts have been found in three mountainous areas in and Osaka and Kyoto prefectures, reports the Mainichi Shimbun (Feb. 26).

On Sunday, a torso was found in the Shimamoto area of Osaka, about 1 kilometer northwest of JR Shimamoto Station. Two arms severed at the shoulder were discovered covered in soil a few hundred meters to the north. Two legs were found 2.5 kilometers east of JR Kyoto Station, according to police.

Some of those details I didn't see before but my point was when they made the arrest for suspicion of "confining" someone...without the person who was supposedly confined, which is just wonky. I get that this is the land of arrests for "suspicion of abandoning a body" and all that silliness but with no person found being confined, she's never seen leaving, have some balls and arrest him for suspicion of murder. (or don't and do some legit surveillance to catch with some actual evidence)

Dismembering a human body has to be completely fucking disgusting...but you'd think after all that effort he'd at least clean the scene and do something better than scatter the parts in the mountains with some dirt on top. He must have really sucked at Easter. Supposedly there are all kinds of stories online (in Japanese) about how to murder someone and dissolve the corpse and I don't think they can be blamed on FG either.

OSAKA (TR) – Investigative sources with the Hyogo Prefectural Police have revealed that an American man in custody over the disappearance of a 27-year-old woman is believed to have been seen in security camera footage taken near where body parts likely belonging to the woman were found, reports TV Asahi (Feb. 28).

Last week, police arrestedYevgeniy Vasilievich Bayraktar, 26, in connection with the disappearance of the woman, a resident of Sanda City, Hyogo Prefecture, who was last seen earlier this month.

On Saturday, officers found what is believed to be the head of the woman inside a suitcase in a residence in Osaka’s Nishinari Ward. The following day, a torso, two arms and two legs were found in mountainous areas of Osaka and Kyoto prefectures.

HYOGO (TR) – Hyogo Prefectural Police on Wednesday applied fresh charges of abandoning a corpse to an American man in custody over the disappearance of a 27-year-old woman after confirming that body parts found in various parts of the Kansai area belong to her, reports NHK (Feb. 28).

Police have accused Yevgeniy Vasilievich Bayraktar, 26, of abandoning the body of Saki Kondo, a resident of Sanda City, Hyogo Prefecture, over the period between February 16 and 22. Regarding the latest allegations, the suspect has declined to comment, according to police.

The Texas man wed Bayraktar’s mom Regina Mishura about 15 years ago after meeting her in the Ukraine through a mail-order bride service.

They split around 10 years ago when Bayraktar was in his early teens.

“I was shocked [when I heard about the incident],” said Benny Dacy, the former stepfather of Yevgeniy Vasilievich Bayraktar, during an interview with Nippon News Network (Feb. 25) in New York. “When he was around me, he was quiet and shy.”

Born in the Ukraine

Sources have told The Tokyo Reporter that Bayraktar was born outside of the U.S. in 1991. Bayraktar’s mother, a Russian, emigrated to the U.S. to marry Benny Dacy in around 2000. They later divorced.

Bayraktar’s natural father is a Bulgarian doctor who lived in the Ukraine. The suspect attended William Floyd High School in Mastic Beach, New York starting in 2007.
