Makeshift Rocket Launcher Found in School Yard in Central Tokyo

A makeshift rocket launcher was found on the grounds of a school in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, this morning. With electric cords and a timer on the device having been burned, the Metropolitan Police Department suspects an extremist group had tried to attack government facilities... a school official found the device in the back of a gymnasium of the Tokyo Chinese School in Gobancho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.

Two projectile launchers found pointed at Japan's Defence Agency
Channel News Asia, Singapore - 11 March 2003 1703 hrs (SST)
They are investigating if the two metal cylinders found at a nearby school were intended to fire mortars at the defence headquarters.

2 projectiles fired at Yokota base, no injuries
TOKYO March 13 Kyodo - Two projectiles were fired at the U.S. military's Yokota base in western Tokyo on Wednesday night in what the police believe was a guerrilla attack by a militant group.
